[attachment=o69132]These clones were done on 5/8/06 from a Romulan that had to be culled from a friend of mine's herd. It had already started to flower on top so we used the lower branches with no buds. I didn't take any pics of them right after "birth" 'cause I've never done this before and it looked kinda like someone had thrown a pot plant into an electric fan. A bunch of hacked up shit that was embarrasing, all stuck in a 2' square propagation tray filled with soil. Humidity Dome? Naw, I put the tray in a cardboard box with 8" tall sides and slid that into a big clear trash bag (new, of course LOL).:dance: The last pic is an experiment. It's just a branch about 4" long with a couple of leaves. I'd already used the growth tip to make one of the clones. It's not supposed to work, at least from all I've read, but it seems to be growing.:confused:

My closet is 4' wide, about 2' deep, and about 9' tall and just happens to have a pop out in the ceiling for access to the "attic", which is really just a crawl space between the ceiling and the roof. The opening is just the right size to mount a box fan to for exhaust. When and if smell becomes an issue, I'm gonna try charcoal filters attached to the fan and see if that works. For light I got 4 twin tube 48" fluorescent fixtures from Home Depot for like $8.00 each and $3.50 a set for the tubes. I used cool white tubes 'cause they have the most lumens (3200) and the temp is 4300k. I was looking for 5000k but the daylight tubes are 6500k and I didn't know if that was too much past 5000 or if it even mattered. They are also about twice the price but not quite as bright. I thought I'd use plant and aquarium tubes for flowering but they're dark. Only about 1700 lumens but they're supposed to be the right color. I don't know :confused:

I have a very similiar setup. Im also using 2 of the exact same light fixtures as you. ive just started my bloom cycle and im using 4 "Kitchen & Bath" flo lights. the color is 3000K (yellow-red spectrum) legit for flowering. Lumen output is 3400. Plus they were low price at homedepot. i also got some CFLs in there. You should check them out too. They work wonders and definitely wouldnt hurt.

8 bucks at home depot. thats a pretty good deal. last time I checked they were 19.00 and about 6 for each tube. I was going to go the shop light route but ended up making a big ass CFL array of 10 bulbs. Im very pleased with the results. 32 days(from seed) and Ive got huge plants with budsites everywhere. Ill update my thread tomorrow. Good job. you should be quite happy with your results, especially since they are from clones.
You dont have many plants so I would try to place them inbetween the fixtures instead of under just 2 tubes so they are soaking up the spots where the lumes cross eachother. if that makes any sense.

Hey eman, Im using 4 of the same fluorecents. They work wonders with vegetating. I purchased some warm white tubes wich really boosted my plants, my logs being recorded in same subforum.

I was checking out BobBong's grow logs using CFLs and since you guys use 'em perhaps I can pick your brains for a sec. How did you make your array of CFLs, and are they just regular household ones or are they something different? I tend to complicate the shit out of simple things so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Simply walk into homedepot or where ever you can find CFLs and buy the highest lumens or watt CFL you can find. Theres nothing to these lights at all other then purchasing and plugging in.

Thats a nice deal, Ive got 6 cool whites for my veg and 2 warm white .... Next time Im in walmart Ill look for those, nice info image. BTW glade you decided to stay:stoned:

Right now Im using 10 23 watt 2700k bulbs all placed pretty tightly together. 230 watts for 2 females. plus a 32 watt shoplight in the background just to mix up the spectrum. things are going well. budz everywhere. I wish I would have scrogged though. im about 8 days into the first signs of female flowers and it's too late.

Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. I saw it on the internet for like $21 for a 1cu. ft. bag. At the place I went it was $14.99 for 1.5 cu. ft. and they can't keep it on the shelvs. Anyhow, I got no clue as to what's causing this so wadda ya think? I got it narrowed down to either too much or not enough of something..lol, I just don't know what. We'll see what happens. Maybe it ate all the good shit out of the soil in the styro cup it was in, or maybe just the styrofoam cup. I might turn yellow too if my 42" ass was forced into some 32" levi's.:dance: The first pic is the only one that seems to show what I'm talking about.

Here's one for the WTF file. Thanks y'all for the input, the lights were about 2 inches above but this grow has been aborted. Check this out. My buddy, the dickhead whose plant these were cloned from, came by the day that I moved them from the prop. tray to the small pots (that incidentally, now that I think about it, he gave me 'cause they were not being used) and said he was having problems and was gonna lose his whole crop. He said he had to make more clones out of the rest of his plants but they were budding. Then I showed him the ones that came off of his other plant that to his surprise were doing well. Later that night he brought over another plant and begged me to help him get as many clones as we could from it. Keep in mind I 'aint no farmer and I 'aint never done this before and this is the same cocksucker that's spent the previous 3 weeks sayin' shit like "Don't get too bummed out when these all die because it won't work" or "You know they're gonna die. Everybody's first grow ends up that way. It's just paying your dues". WTF, I guess he forgot it was his idea in the first place. My bullshit detector must need new batteries or something. Anyhow, we harvested the little buds and got 25 cuttings to put in the JIFFY peat pellets and tray. When he split he took all the harvest to cure it since he knew the RIGHT way to do it. :rolleyes: As I was cleaning up I realized I had reached my personal bullshit limit. Ya know, like one more molecule of BS and I'm gonna twist off. That was a week ago and homeboy shows up today and says "I'm gonna sell all these big ones to this guy in the hills and that'll give us room to take another tray of clones from another plant". Now I was under the impression that I was going to keep some of these and clone them to keep a rotation going so I didn't have to buy anymore weed for the OL, like I've been saying from the start of this adventure, but when I heard that, it happened. I twisted right off. Just like an old head bolt. I said what about mine and the reply was there'll be 50 clones here, you can have 4 of them. I had decided that since I had purchased all the supplies (soil, peat, trays, Rootone, new sharp sissors, razor blades, alcohol) I was going to yank up every fucking plant and stuff 'em up his ass before I booted him out the door. But I decided it wasn't the plants that I was pissed off at so I carefully repotted the 10 big ones in the pots that he gave me, put them in a box, set the tray with 25 cuttings on top, walked outside, and set them on the seat of his truck. I wasn't really pissed but my feelings were hurt. Now the OL on the other hand, gets really pissed when someone does me dirty. Especially if theyre supposed our friend. By the time she was done unloading, she had called him about 16 kinds of motherfucker, told him not to call any phone she could even hear ringing, and if he came to the door when I wasn't here she'd answer it wth a baseball bat. I'm glad she's on my team. :dance: I went to one of the pain in the ass co-ops in Sac. and picked up some Romulan x Northern Lights seeds and some called Martha's Triumph :question: Don't know but we'll see. Hope I didn't get burned. I'll post another grow once I get some of these seeds started. Seeds started? WTF? Shit, I think I'm hooked. but i feel ya, i see where you are coming from, thinking that it was a "good" friend and all and that you did get the plants from this person originally....

instead of buying the seeds you should have just picked up some clones from the club.... does the sac club not sell clones?

The very first time I went there they had some but ever since, none. Every time I ask about clones I get the same response. "I don't know." So I figured I must not be the only one wanting them so I'll try to get a good mother from each strain that I got and do some cloning ( sounds like mad scientist shit don't it? ) ;) There is a place in Chico but its by appt. only and Chico's an hour away and I got a wierd ass work schedule and... (wah, wah, wah) lol. If you want something done it yourself. If you don't know how to do it, learn. I'm germinating some Romulan in JIFFY peat pellets. I thought about paper towels and saucers and warm dark cupboards but the JIFFY pellets were handy and I had them so we'll see what happens. This is day 2 and nothing is visible above ground but who knows what the future will bring. :thumbsup:
