I'm about to fly from Ohio to Arizona for my cousin's wedding, and I leave in four hours, that's when the plane goes out. I'm just going to stay awake untill then and sleep on the plane, but I'm high. I was wondering, could I get on the plane high? Would the police and shit notice, even if I take a shower and put on some fresh clothes? Has anyone ever done it?

No matter what happens, just say that you've been up since Tuesday, working hard.

No problem sweetie. Just don't have any on you and try not to stink of weed and you should have absolutely no problem. If you smoke on the way to the airport, bring a bottle of Febreze along and spray your clothes down. No one will even think anything unusual. Lot's of cig smokers do that before they head in.....just so they don't smell.
It's steaming hot in Arizona so bring the right clothes! Have a great time at the wedding! I looooove weddings!

Oh okay, cool. I hardly ever get red-eye, and I'm really good at acting sober even when I'm blazed out of my mind. I won't get -too- high though, 'cause then I might slip up. Good to know I can do it, though! It'll help me sleep, too. xD

Yeah dude take the plane - I've travelled by plane hundreds of times and I've been goofed half the time. Only once this prick of a security officer asked me why my eyes were so red (I don't use eye-drops, ever.) and I said that there was a lot of dust outside. Point is no one can ever really be sure that someone is high unless you tell them.

I didn't think there was a law against being high (the law is posseion of marijauna). If you act cool, no one would say shit to you.

Its called Under the Influence Laws...

They'd never check, even if they knew you were high. They'd just check for possession.
Look I don't live in the USA but I've watched Boston Legal a lot and I can say that it would be impossible for them to stop and bust you for 'being high'. The only way to prove it in court would be to take urine/blood tests to prove that THC is in your system. That takes a warrant, which they wouldn't get because there is not enough circumstancial evidence to say that you are in fact high. Even if they did get a warrant, a good lawyer could delay the tests as long as it would take. The police wouldn't want the paperwork for all this shit.
Simple fact is the only way they can hold you (and get a warrant for that matter) is on probable cause of being under the influence, as Myth1184 has said. So just be cool and don't worry about it. Enjoy your flight.

Atleast in Oregon, UTI Laws only apply when operating a motor vehicle or heavy machinery. Also, in Oregon possesion by consumption only applies to minors and alcohol... there is no possesion chare against the actual consumption of the drug. I do not know of a federal law that makes being high illegal (it would probably be ruled unconstitutional as a states right case). The only problem would be is that the FAA will not allow people visibly influence of any intoxicant on a plane. So all you have to do is act cool, and enjoy your flight.

Exactly. It doesn't matter what the state law says about under the influence and possession, the federal laws prohibit anyone travelling by commercial aircraft to be 'under the influence of alcohol and drugs, unless said drugs are medically prescribed by a qualified physician' (South African version, American no doubt very similar).
But if you're high and they suspect (on the ground) they can't stop you from flying without due cause as I said in my earlier post.
If you're high and they suspect (in the air) then they can only detain you until the plane lands.
I had a friend who flew from London to Miami, and he got stoned ON the plane, using a shotty in the bathroom. The flight attendant smelled the cigarette smoke he had afterwards (it didn't matter what she smelled, smoking is prohibited) and they 'detained' him for the flight (which was pointless, where could he go at 30 000 ft?) At Miami he got arrested for breaking federal law for "smoking tobbacco on a commerical aircraft" and got a fine of $500. Anyway the point of my story is that they didn't even know that he was stoned off his rocker! He says he was so stoned couldn't even speak properly and they didn't notice. We both agree that if they didn't realize that he was smoking he wouldn't have gotten arrested cause no one would've noticed he was high, even though it was quite obvious.

I think its important to note that it is really hard to prove in court if someone was high at a certain time without blood or saliva tests. I mean you're in an airport with lots of people who prob. have red eyes from all the traveling they do. No one would think twice unless you acted like a complete and total ass.

I swear, I've never been that paranoid in my entire life!! I went on an Aeroplane, and it was so intense!! I'll never do that again, that's for sure!!:p
