Does pot affect the way the pill works?

My pill packet thing says to that herbal products may interact with it. I USE SO MANY HERBAL THINGS! Does that mean i'm fucked when it comes to....fucking? I can't stop using herbs and such because I won't use anything else. :/ HELP MEH!

My girlfriend smoked for three and 1/2 years and we had sex, daily (save five days a month). So, I'd say, without proof, that it doesn't affect it, whatsoever.

Yeah, I found it impossible to believe that it could it affect it, in any way.

Doesn't look like it has any direct effect on the pill. But if weed makes you lose your short-term memory and causes you to forget whether or not you've taken your daily pill or causes you to take it at the wrong time, that could definitely be a negative indirect effect!

Oh no, I don't forget at all. :)

I've done shrooms before, wouldn't think that'd affect it. And also I use herbal remedies and such for illnesses, and it says on my pills that "herbs may interact with the pill." Which is fucked up because I use herbal EVERYTHING!

The links helped plenty! So this is what I gather:

I've been taking Tri-Sprintec since May 8th very loyally, taking it between the hours of 4-6pm everyday. My doctor told me to wait for a month and wait for my next period, but I didn't because when I got the prescription it was two days AFTER my period ended, so I started them then. I'm on my period now and I'm going to wait until June 8thish before I allow him to ejaculate inside of me. We've been pullin' out, though. He is paranoid to cum inside of me when I am able for him to do that and from what I gather from that site, I'll be fine, this is correct as long as I keep taking my pills loyally, right?

Also the herbs I use alot of the time are black cohosh and various mints. I doubt that'd affect the pill, correct?

Yeah, you're doing everything right. Worry not. You're wise to wait 7 more days before going unprotected, but that pull-out method is still dangerous. You're almost certainly safe now, though. You started the pill early enough in your cycle this month that you will have prevented ovulation. I called our friend who's an ob-gyn doc and asked her this because I wanted to make sure I was telling you the right thing.

Nope, those supplements and mints won't affect things.

One question our pal Gail asked was this. What about a condom to protect from STDs?

We know we don't have any STD's so we're fine. We've been together for 8 months and we are both loyal to each other. :) Engaged and such. :D

I know the pull out method is dangerous, but like you said, I should be very well protected. :) Thank you all for your information, its SOOO apperciated! :D

muncheemama-its not really TMI because the information is good to wonder about, since you know, pregnancy could ruin a life. Also i'm really not apt to this information so i'm going to be very blunt.

I know but from what I gather, from the site that I was linked to above, that the pill that i'm on says fourteen days. Thursday of next week makes a month, I should be fine, right?

OK, it may be time to check with Dr. Gail again, but let me check on this. Did you finish up the whole run of pills before your period began? Because if you're still taking them, you could be having breakthrough bleeding which would not be the same as a period. Folks can and do ovulate when they're having breakthrough bleeding. I hate to even tell you that, but it's true.

No it doesn't because I am on the birth control pill for four years and I am a regular cannabis smoker (for about five to six years) and I can say to you that it won't affect you whilst you are smoking cannabis.If anything it helps to regulate and maintain your peroids.And no your fucked from fucking.:thumbsup: :stoned:

I have 2 or 3 white pills left, I don't think that'd make a difference. :/ And thank you very much for your information and care in this, youre very informative. :)
