FOX5 Investigates on Salvia

I watched their "report" on Salvia. I never seen such propaganda in my life. There were zero facts, and only played off emotional fears. The investigation centered around some 17-year old kid who committed suicide because he wrote about his trips, and his parents are convinced Salvia wrecked his mind. His parents' crusade lead Delaware to prohibit Salvia. Their whole point of why this was a dangerous drug was it can make you depressed and suicidal. While this maybe true, they portrayed it like it was dangerous as heroin. What amazed me next is they showed titles of trip reports from the erowid that involved near-death experiences, and twisted it to their angle. Didn't bother to put an ounce of insight, only patter and bullshit. Dishonest journalism these days.......

4 years ago FOX5 did a report on Ecstacy which lead a certain club getting busted. Ruined the entire scene for a while. Pure propaganda and lies.

The parents in delaware should of blamed themselves instead of a drug their idiot kid irresponsibly took that only lasted for 10 minutes. They had a lot more to do with their kid being a fck up dont u think?

Any psychedelic can put you in this state. While Salvia isn't a traditional psychedelic persee, the life-time experiences you get when you breakthrough can affect the mind of the weak to this point. This isn't mean Salvia made him put a knife in his chest, that's total bullshit. It was up to him to come to terms with himself.

I agree the parents are to blame for their irresponsibility. They seemed like a bunch of deadbeats to me. Salvia shouldn't be illegal because of the kid's actions.

Whether cannabis was legal or not, there will be people that will do stupid shit. That doesn't mean their stupidity should cost freedoms for everyone else.

Exactly..it's so messed up that alcohol is legal and weed isn't. I've never tried Salvia but now I want to before they make it illegal.

I'm most definetely stocking up if it becomes illegal where i live. Get a HUGE stock of leaves and airtight seal them, plus some 5x, 10x, 15x, and 20x. I'll probably grow it too because in most laws it's still legal to grow as a house plant, just not ingest.

There's also loopholes in the way most of the laws are written too... the plant ingestion is illegal but the active chemical Salvinorin isn't... it's messed up.

skarz - I've never researched salvia laws in particular, but most drug laws in the US function by banning the active chemical and anything that is designed as a mean of ingesting that chemical. With common plants (and salvia is rather common), it's often pretty easy to sell the plant in a usable form as long as it's labelled creatively, usually as incense.
