I searched but didn't have much luck on this. I thought I read somewhere that you could use light to help make your seeds turn out female. Has anyone heard of this? I think you keep them in 12/12 before they sprout, then go to 18 on and 6 off as soon as they start sprouting. Does this sound right, and can this really make a difference?

Also does Sensi Soak really help? I mean has anyone noticed a difference? And how do you use it? Do you just soak your paper towels with it instead of water to get them to sprout?

Just ordered 3 varieties of seeds, trying to expand the crops you know.
- Northern Lights X Blueberry
- White Widow X Jamacin Lambsbreath
- Chemotherapy
So whadda you all think of my choices?

I think you've got to order a dvd from steve kubby for that secret!
(I heard about it on his pot tv ad)
I think its all luck and the way you hold your mouth when ya plant em!

I think most of sex developments are determined by genetics. But ambient conditions can influence those seeds that arnt well determined before and reduce hermie risk.

Suggestions to increase female ratio:

-Light spectrum and intensity: enought blue light, cold fluos (865) or MH. And provide good intensity after the first week (lights near, specially floros, and with reflectors).

-High humidity level. Never below 60%, 65 to 75% is ideal.

-Enough N. How achieve it depends of substrate, fertilizer, etc

-Avoid too much heat and excesive drying.

Most seeds are geneticly programmed, and you cant really change that, although a plant that may turn out hermie may turn out 100% female if its got perfect condition, but then again, hermies are actually quiet rare in seed genetics, its mainly because of stresses that turn plants hermie.

So does this mean those products are a waste of money, unless you are dealing with hermies?

LIP pretty well nailed it ... sex is genetic, although undue stress will force the plant to reverse to male (male is more durable under stress in the plant world) ... NOTHING that I have ever heard of will change a male to a female ... save your money ... plant, and hope for the best ... :smokin:

I've heard of it being done. But it's very difficult.

I think of it as trying to spit out only a certain type of sperm for sexing. Try as you may it just can't be done. But what do I know?
