hey
does anyone like Blink 182?? I've liked them for years, but I just realised how amazing their latest album (self titled) is.. all their old stuff was good, but this albums truely original
even if you dont like punk/punk rock/pop punk, whatever you wanna call them, or even if you think theyre 'too poppy', i advise you to blaze up and listen to their latest album.. in my opinion its one of the most original CD's to come out for a while

Yeah... not too much into the modern punk scene, but I do like a few modern punk bands like The Used and Funeral for a Friend... But of course shit like old school Green Day, Offspring, Rancid, etc. That's some good shit.
But on a similar note, how about some ska? Some Toasters or some Specials. Now that's some good shit to blaze to :D

Who can mention punk and not mention The Exploited? Blink 182, sorry not really my choice. :)
Punk to me was;
The Clash
Stiff little fingers
Buzzcocks
Sham 69
Vice Squad
Ian Dury & the blockheads
Joy Division
Siouxsie & the banshees
The Ruts
I do remember The Exploited's (Dead cities) first and last time on Top of the Pops ~lol~ my Dad nearly had a nervous breakdown :D
Edit: He watched it with us - for Pan's People

Wow great line up of old punk and oi. I love Sham. Bolstal Breakout! hahaha Oh you remember the Dead Cities single. That's pretty cool. I saw The Exploited not too long ago. They don't tour in the US very often, crappy small crowds. The only original member is the frontman/singer Wattie.

I prefer their "Angel's with dirty faces", although "Borstal Breakout" is a great track.
My boyfriend at the time was an Exploited fan - the reason I got the Mohican that got me a months grounding. I much prefered SLF (Suspect Device & Alternative Ulster)

Hersham Boys! lol Yeah I think Wattie's red mohawk is one of the most distinct mohawks ever. He is too old for it now, he let it down and it is red dreads now. Damn he is in his mid-40's now I think and still going strong!
Blink 182... Cannot stand them. :( I also refuse to support their riaa lable by buying one of their cds. If i like the artist and they do have a riaa lable I would simply just download it and send the artist a $1 in the mail. Because $1 is about twice as much as they would be gettting if i was to go out and buy the cd in a store
Blink 182, i dont particularly care for them. I dont think they are that talented. Just my opinion.
Some of the bands that hold a place in my heart:
Pink Floyd
Rush
AC-DC
Van Halen
Led Zepplin
Nirvana
Ozzy
The Who
They Must Be Giants
I know you play the drums Ghost, and i play the guitar. Fuse all of the above bands and you have the sound coming from my guitars.
Of course there are tons of bands who i enjoy listening too. . . but those are some of the best.
Sorry if i bored you.
Oh, and the only 'punk' i like are the Sex Pistols and The Clash.

Its true, artists dont make squat from album sales. All the money is in the concerts.
Thats why Metallica are so rich. Their 'Injustice for All' Tour was 4 years long.
Money hogs.

If artists dont make squat from sales, how come all three guys from blink 182 have massive mansions?? LOL They were on MTV Cribs lol
and YES, ye I play the drums, that's one of the main reason I like Blink 182 so much.. I dont like many of the songs theyve released, because theyre more 'pop', but Travis, the drummer from Blink 182, in my opinion is one of the best drummers in the world at the moment.. Just listen to his drumming and you'll see what I mean.. he's who I wanna be when I grow up LOL

If you like that sound check out the dwarves.
they dont moan about girls much.
check out "the dwarves are young and good looking" or "dwarves come clean."
others are better, but these are pretty friendly.
Blink 182 I do not like.
Buzzcocks.he he, was listening to them last nite. :)
Ghostoker, if you think that travis guy is good, youve never hear Neil Peart. Buy a rush cd. The drumming will blow your mind. This guy has a setup that you couldnt imagine. You havent hear drumming Untill youve heard Neil Peart. Trust me, check it out. He has a phd in music. The call him the professor. Plays with 15 drums, 13 cymbals, a bunch of bells, some wood thingys and much more. CHECK IT OUT. Sorry.
And Kieth Moon from the Who is good. Real good. God Rest his soul.

Okay maybe I worded my post wrong.. I know there are loads of drummers that are better than Travis from Blink, but, he's my favourite.. I love his style and his skill, thats the kinda shit I wanna be able to play some day :)

first off blink 182 has no talent. if you've ever been to their show, unfortunately i was a couple years ago, you would know how m,uch they suck in person. they wouldnt be shit without a recording studio. They fuck up so many times and just try to play it off like its funny, but its not, it is pitiful. good bands- hendrix, the dead, pink floyd, zeppelin, and no one has mentioned the doors, marley, nirvana- those are always on top.

Yeah, I heard they suck ass in concert too. Someone told me they suck even when you stoned at their concert. I think thats kind of funny.
But i hope you enjoy the show, Ghost.

Sorry, Ghost.
That's what I heard, also.
I had an ex who saw them a year or 2 ago... Said they were horrible. She also said Travis' drums were dwarfing the rest of the band. Probably to drown out that one guy's disgusting voice (which is even worse in person, I hear).

alot of punk bands fuck up on songs, whats different is that they dont build themselves up to make it look like they aren't supposed to. If your at a real punk show its not like the special effects and shit it's the energy. Not feeling it coming from blink. but if you want a really good show, check out the red hot chili peppers. they are AMAZING in person.
