hey, well i was going to get a bc bloom box, but i have decided to just go ahead, save some money and build it myself.
please read this, and direct me in the right path.
i want to grow 6 plants with a drip system.
here is the hydro drip i have been looking at, its 17 gal res. http://www.gchydro.com/detail.asp?product_id=ecogrower
as far as lighting, i think a 600 watt hps should be ok with 6 plants hydro?
nutrients...well i have not done too much research into this, i will, but if anyone wants to reccomend the simplest setup for nutes, let me know.
now...as part of the ssytem i do not know about. i live in an apartment, and yes i puff the herb here, with no complaints, although secrecy is one of my main concerns.
what is the best plan for a hydro setup, build a box with a carbon scrubber or buy a box?
now, what am i missing here besides the seeds? i have been reading alot about hydro and think i got this down, i have done soil grows so i do have the basics of a grow.....but i think hydro will be the best for me.
my goal is 3-4 ounces per plant, which i think it very reasonable
alright yall, please reply. help me out so i can get this going. i plan on getting this started by the middle of june. thanks:dance:

Smokin Dope:
Hydro is a great choice! And building a grow box is soo much better than buying one.
I would go look at the C13 and C25's and get witchever one suits your needs. Those things are great to work w/. The inside is already flat white and that helps a great deal down the road.
You will need some kind of intake on the bottom part of the cab. PVC elbows work great. Then a exaust fan pulling air from inside the cab-through the fan- into the carbon scrubber. If you have a aircooled hood than the intake side of the fan will be hooked up to the hood and the exaust will have the scrubber.
The C25's are so big that you can fit all this inside the cab.
Cab growing is the shit man. Keep us up to date and ask all the ?'s you want!

hey thanks for the speedy reply.
i will check out these c13 and c25s, and see about them as ive never heard of them.
i actually have been pondering just getting a simple tent with a carbon scrubber....what are your opinions on a tent and this way?
let me check out the c13 and ill reply about that too, depeding on how much they are, i may be able to pick it up.
i am trying to make this as simple as possible ;) i cannot wait to get started!!!!

alrighty, looked into these, so basically it is a closet?
my step dad owns a construction company, so i am thinking he may be able to help me build something similar and simple....to save a little green.
how big would you reccomend the closet be with a 6 plant hydro with 17 gal res, and 1000 watt hps?
now what i am very confused about is the entire fan part of the grow.
now i realize a small rotating fan located by the plants will be good, but what else do you reccomend? or is a carbon scrubber setup enough?
thanks, haha i am gonna have more questions after this by the way

Nutrients- GH flora nova is the easist(comes in a 2 part form) and works great.
My #1 choice is GH flora series 3 part. Micro Grow and Bloom or Advanced Nutrients 3 part Micro Grow and Bloom. They are both the same thing IMO but I get the GH cheaper here.
You can get a TDS/EC meter to keep track of your nutrient levels. I insist on these but some just use the schedule. You can buy this first(before nutrients) and test your tap water to see how good/bad it is.
A ph meter is a must. You will need some GH up and down because its formed for plants(not vinager! lol)
Here is the proper levels for ppm and ph
Indica's
Seedlings and clones 300-400ppm 5.3-5.5 ph
early vegg 500-600ppm 5.3-5.6 ph
middle vegg 600-800ppm 5.4-5.6 ph
late vegg 800-1000ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
early flower 1000-1300ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
middle flower 1400-1600ppm 5.5-5.8 ph
late flower 1000-1100ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
ripening 300-500ppm 5.4-5.6 ph
sativa's
seedlings and clones 250-350ppm 5.3-5.5 ph
early vegg 300-500ppm 5.3-5.6 ph
middle vegg 500-700ppm 5.4-5.6 ph
late vegg 700-900ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
early flower 1000-1100ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
middle flower 1100-1300ppm 5.5-5.8 ph
late flower 800-1000ppm 5.5-5.7 ph
ripening 300-500ppm 5.4-5.6 ph
As far as the drip goes..I'm sure someone on here will give you good info on them. I have used them but just for veg. I like dwc myself. The nutrient levels and ph dont change from system to system.
BTW temps are a big problem so you will need a good fan(400 cfm+) especially w/ a 600 watt.

Yeah the C13's are cabinets. If you can build your own do it. Thats even better beacuse you can get all the measurments and cuts out of the way when you build it.
The main idea w/ ventalation is you want fresh air(intake) to come in the bottom of the grow area-through the plants and finally out of the cab.
The way you get the spent air out is w/ high powered exaust fans:can fans or squirl caged fans. I use can (inline) fans. But you also have to take care of the odor so you hook up a carbon scrubber to the exaust fan. The fan is so powerful that when you hook it up it will suck air through the intake holes at the bottom of the cab(passive intake).
Look at as many cab grows as possible to get the idea of the ventalation and fans
Having a fan blowing on the canopy is good for the plants. Its spreads out the CO2 in the fresh air to the plants.
As far as dimensions, If your using a 1000 watt make it Large somthing like 5'x6'x7' +/-
