started my second set of Northern Lights/Cinderella 99 seeds, 'Joey Weed' seeds, from Hemp Depot ... 100% germination again, and doing very well so far ... went from germination paper towels, to Jiffy Pots, to soil ... this time, I got them into soil as quickly as possible ... (those Jiffy pots are too easily over-watered, etc) ... in potting soil, in 4" clay pots, ... gave them a WEAK dose of Miracid (30-10-10), SuperThrive, and Earth Juice Micro-Blast, and Earth Juice Catalyst, at the 10th day ... solution was very diluted, I attempted to give them only a 'trace' of nutrients ... under a 500-watt equivalent CFL (the cheapo I got from WalMart) ... the seedlings seem to be doing very well under it ... my first NL99 crop should finish in about 4 weeks, so I will have to harvest it, before I can put these into my big 'flowering' cabinet ... if necessary, these may have to go outside for a few days, if my timing is off ... this is first time I have had two crops going at once, I may have started these a wee bit early, as my 'veg cabinet' has limited room ... 18" x 18" x 24" ... I doubt it will hold four of these for another 4 weeks, they have really taken off since the feeding ... anyway, here's a pic or two, for my fellow dirt farmers ... :smokin:

Now THOSE look healthy.

That's the first set of real healthy seedstarts I've seen around here in a while.

CFLs rock for babies. I use crazy little CFL shoplights for mine... works like a charm.

I like well done fluorescent grow setups like yours, the plants have that great dense foliage about them.

What does the 500w CFL look like? The biggest I've seen are the 150w security bulbs at Home Depot.

awhile back, a thread was in here, announcing a big CFL yard light, available at WalMart, ((in California), that is under special pricing from PG&E (local electric company), it draws 85 watts, and it claims equivalency of a 500-watt incandescent ... (I have no idea how accurate that claim is, seems a bit optomistic, but it IS bright) ... anyway, it is just a large, powerful CFL, blue spectrum, great for vegging ... and, because the electric company is underwriting the cost, they are like $12 apiece, fixture and all, ready to install a plug ... the CFL is a Mogul base type ... :smokin:

I think the 150w cfl's rate that they give off 500w...He said that above basically
