My buddy was talking about hooking a thermal switch in his grow so if it gets too hot, it shuts everything off. Anyone have any experience with these? Are they worth the money?/ or just a waste?

Gracias

They are worth the money and will save your crop in case of Air Cond failure or other heat related issues...........:D

You can find the relays for $10-$15 and they can save you either way. I have definatly seen them used to keep temps up as well.

I custom build digital thermal shutdowns. Mine will now restore power after 15 minutes or if the temperature drops. You have to push a manual reset button and you get a digital temp controller (Ranco). The probe can be placed up to a few hundred feet way, unlike the capillary type temperature controllers with the 6 to 10 feet probe.
