Finnally Understanding What Ego Is.

LoL, ok this might sound like a real stoned thought here, but I finnaly understand what your "ego" is. Its pretty much what you see, how you percive it, how you think, and how the world effects you. I unno I had a joint at lunch today, but it seems like the biggest discovery ever. Its basically YOU. Like Ive heard about ego before and always thought it was something like in the background of things but actually its just you in your head.

Your "ego" is your original sin. If you were to map out all evil deeds you would see that they ALL stem from this simple 3 letter word.....EGO

Every high dose experience with mushrooms has made it very clear that our egos are what hold us back from becoming something greater. We are so stuck on ourselves that we cant move past this stage. The mushrooms do whatever it takes to dismantle your ego and show you what it is allll about, its all bullshit. Look around you, just about everything you see is a product of the ego. I could go on forever about the human ego......

Its deadly, Its quiet, and it flies under the radar most of the time...till something like mushrooms throw it in your face and make you llook at it

For me, acid always strips away my ego and lets me see the world clearly. It's easily one of the best experiences I've had, because seeing something like that is so different from what I'm used to seeing, thinking, and feeling. And like dezire said, your ego is a seperate dream of who the real "you" is, and I feel that drugs like shrooms and acid work wonders for "waking" people up from this surreal ego trip and see the world for what it is, as well as what you are as a person.

Its weird tho, like about a year ago I actually managed to just sit there and litteraly think of nothing, not a thought at all just calm. Now I find out thats what people are going for when they meditate. But now Ivbe let it go and my head is full of thoughts and I feel differant somehow. And now you guys are saying shit like EGO is ya pretty much what I am going through now, almost like a dream of what shit is like, when before everything just was, now Im overthinking overanalizeing just about everything.

what is the ego? Nothingness, but in a form that seems like something. In a world of form the ego cannot be denied for it alone seems real. Yet could God's son as He created him abide in form or in a world of form? Who asks you to define the ego and explain how it arose can be but he who thinks it real, and seeks by definition to ensure that it's illusive nature is concealed behind the words that seem to make it so.

Ego is... BULLSHIT. All the bullshit in the world. Think of every conflict you've had with anybody... it's a result of a misunderstanding... which is a result of your ego. Ego is the thing that has us attach sentimentality to material things that have no sentiment. Money or cars or whatever have you...

Ego is alot of things... mostly alot of problems.

To put it in the simplest way possible, according to Freud, the EGO is you. It is your personality, your traits, your strengths and weakness. It is your mind. An alter ego would be like a split personality. The ego is the mind's representation of oneself (think matrix and 'Residual Self-Image).

Ya I read ALL that shit about Ego on Wikipedia. Its pretty weird but all makes so much sense. Ya superego is your morals, and what you belive to be acceptable, its basically your social side of your conciousness, and the ego is the one that controls all of it.
