View Full Version : Bumping threads to the top.

I'd like to suggest a limit of 2 consecutive replys by the same person on the same thread, especially a thread started by that person.

This Ed Ward guy has been self bumping his own threads to the top, on the Activism, Politics, and Legal boards, by continuously replying to his own replies. :(

Hard to ignore Trolls, if they can keep trolling themselves to the top, making more relevant threads sink. ;)

i know what youre saying, but i gotta disagree

if you start a thread, and it ends up gettin alot of replies, it would suck to only be able to post 2 more times in the whole thread.. ive started a load of threads with 10, 20, 30+ replies, a few being mine.. people ask questions etc, so how are you supposed to carry on the conversation, topic or answer any of their questions or ask more questions yourself? its not logical, it wouldnt make much sense.. but i know what ur saying, i just think it would suck lol

Edit: maybe if it was obvious that the person is purposely bumping their threads to the top, then the mods should do something about it.. that would be a good idea, if there were more mods, but unfortunately there arent.. even though the mods we do have at the moment do a great job :)

Just 2 in a row. ;)

Once you made 2 in a row on the same thread, you'd have to wait for someone else to post on that thread before you could reply again.

But it's still early.

I'm not as impatient as you are, Ed.

We'll see what happens after a few months of me continually bumping it up to the top to prove my point.

And what reason was it that you replied to yourself 3 and 4 times in that thread?

"We thank you for your support.";)

"By the way, many of our viewers wonder why Ed doesn't ever talk. Well, for the last 5 years, he's had this bottle up his ass."

I understand what you mean completely Sinsemilla. The sweet irony of it is though if you look, your post numbers dont go up during the same post, so if that was what Ed Ward was trying to achieve it wont really do shit for him.

Trying to get those extra few clicks.

I think he's calmed down now, but at last count he had made the last 7 posts on that one thread.

The thing is, nothing gets posted on the Political/Legal boards for days.
Then Libertarian Toker posted Badnarik's excellent Industrial Hemp essay, which IMHO really goes at the heart of the whole marijuana movement, on Activism.;)
And right after, Ed Wad comes along and dumps his self site promoting shit on all 3 P/L boards as well as 16 or 17 of the U.S. State boards!
Then, he's bound and determined to keep them all up top for the weekend.
(No effort needed on the State boards.) :o

That's when I decided to have some fun with the tools here and troll his ass right back. :D
It really pissed me off.
I've been posting over on MariHemp for a couple of years, and I'm very grateful to Ron and the gang for this place, so I've been trying to contribute some over here at Cann.com, too.
I LOVE the freedom they give us here! :)
You can cuss and have fun and even get away with posting a little erotica. Shhh, don't tell anyone. :p
And, of course, you can talk about pot!
I hate seeing some jerk take advantage of that. :(

But after this post, the next poll will be on banning me from using emoticons.

Sensemilla, I know what you're saying and I agree.. but, surely he'll get banned or warned for spamming if he carries on????? We can hope, eh :)

Hadn't thought of the edit, not on most boards I go to. How long is that timer good for?

Thanks,

Ed

An EDIT button will be visible at the bottom of your post, just to the left of the QUOTE button that is always there.

But even after you hit the EDIT button, you have to finish and submit the edit before the five minutes are up.;)
