hey everyone i know that nobody really knows for sure if pot causes cancer.. i hear soooooo many different things. One thing i read says it does, while others say it doesnt?! Most of the things I read said that theres no connection w/ marijuana and cancer. But some others say there def. is a connection. I was reading one thing that said:

"Studies show that someone who smokes five joints per day may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a full pack of cigarettes every day.
Tobacco smoke and marijuana smoke may work together to change the tissues lining the respiratory tract. Marijuana smoking could contribute to early development of head and neck cancer in some people."

Iduno if this is true or not because after I read that I saw a bunch of other websites and articles saying that it likely doesn't cause cancer.

WHY DONT THEY JUST MAKE UP THEIR MINDS?!? WTF.

I usually only smoke like 4 times a week, maybe once or twice a day... I dont think that would be enough to cause cancer if the quote above is true. what do you guys think? I think that you'd have to smoke a hell of a lot of weed for it to cause cancer (if it even does) any thoughts?

today my psychology teacher told me that they did a study and found that people that smoke pot have no better chance of getting lung cancer than someone who doesn't smoke anything

Some "experts" say it SHOULD cause cancer but I have no reason to believe it does. Look at the cancer free stoners that have been toking for 20+ years.

I'll tell you what it doesn't do and that is emit alpha particles. Tobacco does.

Uhm, duh it causes cancer. It's unfiltered smoke. In your lungs. Cigarettes are filtered. But I don't really care, 'cause it's awesome.

um... you dont know what the hell your talkign about, cause there hasn't been a single documented case of someone with lung cancer that smoked only weed. and what are you saying, filtered cigarettes don't cause cancer? cause they do.

Look at people who suffer from smoke inhalation, after their house has gone on fire. They recover. We can recover from Pot smoke, if they can recover from plastic, et al, smoke.

They just posted a ton of articles about a study done on a bunch of people and even the most heaviest stoners who have smoked more than 22,000 joints in there lifetime are equally likely to get cancer as those who dont smoke anything. But for those who smoked tobacco they were much much more likely to get cancer.

I still say tobacco causes so much cancer because it's fucking radioactive. Something about the high energy alpha particles being emitted within the sensitive tissues of your lungs.
Yup, sounds like cancer to me.

They said two nights ago, on the local news for Jackson, MS, that they had found that smoking marijuana does not lead to lung cancer. They said the scientist were amazed because it contains twice as many cancer causing chemicals.

I read an article a couple weeks ago that explained the same concept. They said that people that live in New York City breathes as much pollution as a tobacco smoker who smokes a pack to a pack and a half a day of cigs, but they do not get lung cancer like the tobacco smoker. The non-smoker's lungs block the cancer causing chemicals and pollution. The nicotiene causes the smoker's lungs to lose the ability to block the chemicals.

I used to smoke cigs. I ended up in the hospital. My athsma medicine quit working and I couldn't breathe after smoking for a couple years. I've been smoking weed for years. I don't have asthma, anymore. It is nothing like tobacco.

I don't really need a scientist to tell me something that experience has shown me. I thank Jesus for the medicine He gave me. I would not be able to comfortably function in society without it.

As a young teen I was diagnosed bi-polar. The meds caused me to attempt suicide. They diagnosed me with major-depression. I thought I was badder than anybody and went to jail for trying to beat up a couple police officers. I quit taking meds. As an adult a local doctor prescribed me xanax. It helped if I stayed messed up on them, but I had to take more and more to get the same effect till I ran out. That made my anxiety really stand out. They tried to diagnose me bi-polar, again.
I told them that I have a wife and three kids. It was okay back then, but I cannot afford to be experimented on, anymore. I told them that marijuana helps me and I do not want any pills. I started my own business with the help of marijuana holding my nerves and self together. "Well, what if you go to jail?" It's not my fault that I am not allowed to have the only medicine that helps without the dangerous side effects. It helps me without making me want to kill my self or anyone else. "You live your life the way you want." I told the doc she must be Libertarian.

God bless yall and your work. Do not give up the fight. Have courage and we will be free.

Whoa we've got some fucking retarded scientists out there huh?
It's not even like anybody is trying to keep it a secret anymore. It is as bold a fact as there can be, tobacco contains alpha emitters like polonium 210 and yet people try to maintain that marijuana contains "twice as many cancer causing chemicals". (I assume they mean 'tars' or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)
We know that tobacco and it's smoke contains polonium 210. We know that polonium 210 is an alpha emitter. We know that internal exposure to aplha particles causes cancer. Yet scientists are surprised that smoking cannabis doesn't seem to cause cancer like tobacco? What a fucking joke.

yes most tobacco is grown in radioactive soil. any plant grown in it will concentrate it in the plant. besides cannabis which breaks it down somehow.
also did you ever read the list of chems they put in tobacco??? like 600 of them. It is a scary list

also.... I try not to watch "The News". fuck thier bullshit propaganda
one good story does not make up for all the other mind programming they feed you

I'm surprised it was even on the news. The whole story lasted about five seconds, like they were being forced to do it and embarrassed.
