I just recieved my shipment from iamshaman.com. I got 3g of calea zacatechichi 10x dry extract, 3 grams of Blue Lotus 25:1 Extract, and a Free Sample of Salvia divinorium 6x incense. On the calea and salvia baggies it says "Not for Human Consumpiton!" My question is can i still smoke them and feel the effects? How harmful are they compared with tobacco? and What are the best ways to smoke it or get the most out of it? for the calea i was just planning on putting a little bit on top of a dank bowl before bedtime, maybe mixing a little blue lotus in there as well... anyways what are the best ways to consume these extracts... I dont know much about them so any input would be stellar! Thanks in advance :smokin:

they sell it as incence and say "Not for human consumption" so the feds dont think they are selling drugs that are intended to get people high. and the best way to smoke the salvia is with a bong, take the biggest hit you can and hold it as long as you can, then exhale and try for another one, by the time you exhale the second hit you will start tripping. try to have a sitter there for the salvia, with the blue lotus you should be fine by yourself

I've been using all three of these for quite some time now... here's my 2 cents.

Calea should be used by itself, not with marijuana. If you're using calea for a dream aid, weed slows down your REM (rapid eye movement), there's a post about Lucid Dreaming in the lounge that kind of talks about it more. I stick with the leaves and roll joints out of that, i've never used the extract. My suggestion would use a little bit each night about 20 minutes before bed. Take your hits (not too much) and just relax and fall asleep, don't do anything physical after smoking. Calea usually takes time, so if you don't feel anything for 2 weeks don't give up on it, its something that takes work. Also, calea is a great catalyst for other plants such as Kava and Blue lotus...

As far as the Blue Lotus goes, don't waste your time smoking it. The "traditional" way is to steep it in wine/alcohol then drink it, but i'm not sure how that would work with the extract. Once again i've only used the leaves but what I normally do is mix the leaves in with applesauce and eat it. You don't need that much, maybe a tablespoon full of leaves, and the effects are very pleasing. You can also use a TINY bit of blue lotus before using salvia to enhance the effects. I suggest you don't take a full dose of lotus before salvia, but just threshold amount.

Salvia is one of the greatest substances ever, but it is often underrated/overrated at the same time. It is not used to "get high" or get "fucked up", you have to respect the plant because it will take you for a ride. Using a waterpipe or a nice bong is the best because the smoke can be pretty harsh. Typically a torch lighter is recommended but you can use a regular lighter if need be, just keep the flame on the bowl the ENTIRE hit. Take as big of a hit as humanly possible and hold it in for 30+ seconds. It's best to have a friend nearby incase you drop the piece or lighter, etc.

Once again i suggest going to erowid.org and doing a little bit of research so you can experience the best effects! Good luck man, you've definetely got some good plant allies there!

damn skarz
you were right on the money with the lotus. I was wondering if someone knew it has to be used in wine :-).
as for the Calea
I think if you were to tell yourself every night for a certain period of time you will program yourself to dream anyways. It is a form of self hypnosis
not that you are wrong though
I find that Salvia brings me vivid dreams mo so than Calea ever could
I tried smoking some Entada Rheedi seed tonight so I will see how that goes,
however I did do some salvia also :-)
I also have some Silene Capensis plants growing.
I take a little nibble of the leafs every once in a while untill I am ready to harvest the roots
you are right with the Salvia too
its the best ever :-)
can you tell me more about the Lotus??? can you use the seed?
what kind of effects do YOU get from it????
I dont drink but if I did I would know more about it lol

I have never steeped the lotus in wine... mostly because I hardly drink alcohol and I hate wine. I've heard it's been done with rum, brandy, and other harder drinks before too, but I don't like to mix with alcohol. I should take something back... you CAN smoke blue lotus for effects, but I find eating it is MUCH more enjoyable and effective. The only time I smoke blue lotus is with other herbs such as a passiflora blooms and salvia leaf. I find a pinch of lotus, a passionflower bloom, and a pinch of salvia has a very calming effect and takes you to the edge of salvia space without fully feeling the effects of salvia.

As far as what I'VE felt from Blue lotus, it's been nothing but bliss. The most common words used to describe it are "euphoria" and "relaxing", but I feel more then just that. One phenomanon associated with the effects of lotus is feeling other peoples aura's, and it is not a myth! Under doses of 2-3 tablespoons I've been able to feel the energy of other people, it's comparable to static electricity. Lotus is something to use just sitting around, doing physical work seems to take away from the effects. Just listening to music and laying down is a wonderful experience.

I'm not sure what you can do with the seeds (besides plant them obviously), but as far as ingesting them goes I believe it's pointless. Iamshaman has great lotus products.. I have several ounces of blue lotus/blue lily/white lotus for various smoking blends I make. It's not something i enjoy to do a lot, it's more of a treat that comes along once in awhile.
