When you inhale smoke (from a joint) and you hold your breath for a while (say 30 seconds) before you exhale there is less smoke.

Does this mean that the longer you hold it in the more stoned you get?

no it doesnt its merely coating your lungs with tar its more harmful, thc absorbs fast the rest of the shit you dont need

No it doesnt. THC is abosrbed instantly by the lungs. BY holding your breath your not getting higher, all your doing is covering your lungs in tar that really, it could be doing without.

I had an argument about this a while ago, and the reason some people may feel higher is just placebo.

Holding it in does nothing, and if you dont belive me, do some research.

Anybody who says holding it in is good is a bullshitter.

Hold on a sec. Holding it in for 30 seconds isn't good for ya. But if you hold it for say 5-10 seconds, you will be more stoned than if you just inhaled then exhaled after done inhaling. I think it really depends on the volume of smoke you intake. THC absorbtion cannot be absored instantaneously, because that is impossible; there has to be a time frame. THC is just absored at a very high rate. If you take a massive bong load it will take your cells longer to absorb the THC than if you took a half-second drag off a little pipe. I can actually feel my self getting progressively more stoned as I hold a large hit of club herb, and I feel a change in my airway when I've absorbed the THC.:thumbsup:
