How is growing done??

Ok i want to try to grow my own weed i already know what kinda seeds im gonna get i found some called "Orange Bud" It looks GOOD! What do you guys reccomend a good potting soil would be?? How much times do i water it?? What size light do i keep on it?? How far away do i keep it from the plant?? Is there anything i can feed it to make it grow better?? Sorry for all the questions i just really wanna learn how to grow these beautifull plants! Also what is "Hydroponic" I think it is a machine if it is how can i build or buy one. Thanks in advance for your guys help.

Then whatever you don't understand just ask ;)
To try and take everything in at one go is a bit of a tall order, however growing is not all that difficult, if I can do it anyone can.

Can I just ask are you thinking of growing in or outdoors, because you will need a growlamp if you're planning on growing indoors, I'm assuming it's indoor with you posting on this section :) .

For an easy hydro system that you can build for not a lot of dough look into DWC. Just try doing a search and there will be plenty of info. Also if you do decide to grow indoor, you have multiple lighting options. CFLs can be used throughout the veg/flower period, and are relatively inexpensive and good for small operations. If you have the extra cash then you could upgrade to a HID light, Metal halide or High pressure sodium. Always try to get the best light you can afford. Nutes and what not are much easier to make do with but light is the key. Hope this helps

fox farm is a very good soil and nutes. the best thing to get is a water meter that determines the dryness of the soil, when it reads 3 water your plants. lets say that your gonna grow 1 plant, you can use a 150 watt cfl light, you get at lowes or home depot. you can use it or more up until its time to start flowering. you can get the lights 1-2 inches from the top of the plant. when you start your 12/12 then you should have a hps on the plant. only use water and superthrive during the 1st month. after that you want to start using the fox farm nutes, for 8-9 weeks. hydro is for your next grow , start out with the soil 1st to get that under your wings 1st. we are here to help so ask away.

uh oh, my two cents :D ... first, this new grower should be reading all he can, and ask questions when he doesn't understand ... second, these responses are telling a complete newbie he needs hydroponics, $$$$ light systems, nutrients out the ass .... he doesnt need to know any of that ... he should get a couple of fluorescent lamps, some dirt in a pot, and water ... then, he should practice with some bagseed ... you shouldn't put all that pressure on a beginner ... ok, I'm done now ... :smokin:

Have a look in your phone directory for your local hydroponics shop, go over there and have a talk they'll be able to point you in a direction.

Thank you everyone for your posts you guys all gave me very helpfull info and thanks for the link mobay i appreacite it! Im getting a set up going on in my room now im gonna go look for fox farm soil tommorow and fill up a kiddie pool with it then see if i can get these babys growing! I will post pictures if im sucessfull thanks again everyone!
