View Full Version : My dealer situation... what do you think?

I've been buying my buds off the same guy for a couple of years now. He always has good shit at a good price, and I've never had any problems with him. I trust him pretty well, so I probably never would have bothered to weigh a bag he sold me, but recently one of my friends got a pretty nice digital scale. I had just bought a fresh quarter, so we decide to try out the scale. The quarter came out to 6 grams, so it now seems that he is weighing the baggie along with the buds. His bags never looked skimpy to me and I never would have even noticed if we hadn't been playing around with a new scale.
Depending on how much you buy his prices are about $10-20 cheaper than anyone else I'm currently able to get anything from ($40 8ths, $80 quarters, as opposed to $50 8ths and $90-100 quarters elsewhere). Plus he brings the shit to my house whenever I call, if I go to someone else I have to go pick it up.
I'll probably continue to buy from him, to me it seems like a fair trade for the better prices and doorstep delivery. But I was just wondering what everyone else's opinion is, and what you would do in this situation?

If your happy with it then go with it. IF it is lower than avrage price for the kinda stuff you get.
So yeah, unless u get crap buds or its same price, i wud'nt stand for it. But since its a lil cheaper and he does come to ur house, and as long as ur happy with wot ur gettin. Then sure, go with it :)

To me it seems he could be taxing you for gas money to get to your house or maybe taxing you for that and cheaper prices

seems pretty much fair to me, i mean there's no set-in-stone set price for marijuana on the street, so it's basicly between the seller/buyer how much is paid, and he is (especially if he lives more than 5 minute car ride away) doing you a huge favor by bringing it to your house... i mean it's not like he's trying to sell you 3 grams for 40$...
if i were you i wouldn't even bring it up to him... if you call him on it, he may decide to start ripping you off more, making you pick your own shit up, and charging you normal prices.... but don't take this post as 'take what your given and stfu' or anything, if it starts becoming less and less, or you feel your getting ripped off more and more (progressively more each time) then you might wanna say something like "hey man, what's up with all the shortage lately, i mean i knew your quarters weren't 7 grams and i was cool with that cuz you delivered it and whatnot..." or something along those lines..

he probobly eyes out his sac`s. next time he comes over, when your about to give him the dough, bust out your new digi-scale and weigh it. 1/4 usually cost 90$ and weighs 7.0-7.2 grams.

just talk to him casually about the scale, tell him you got a scale one day when you and him are just chillin. ur bags will weigh a lil fatter from then on in. yeah but it sounds like he's taxin ya. its a small tax too for all of what your getting, deliv, good dank etc.

i just realized i fucked up... that shoulda said either 1 gram for 40 or like 3 grams for 90....

and it might just have been a mistake this one time, weigh your bags from now on and if you notice a trend, THEN consider other options.

i would keep buying from him. i think the weight of the baggies makes up for the cheapness of the pot in general. besides, the wight of a aoggie is very very small anyway.
He might not have a scale and could be eyeballing it. He sounds like a good guy though. So if you are getting less youre paying less too. So it evens out. He aint rippin you off.

I have had an experience in the past where I had been buying from the same dealer for over two years, but found that over time the bags where getting lighter and lighter, unless your dealer weighs the produced in from of you never expect them to do you a favour, there after the money and in the long run he did himself out of a good customer for I just stopped from buying from him all together.
As regard to door to door delivery the weight should be correct its there choice to deliver and they shift a lot more because they do deliver, so never consider petrol costs. or distance travelled.
Its a business and should be treated like one (unless your buying from a close friend) never be taken short for 1 gram down one day will be 2-3 grams the next day if you let it happen.

if he is selling you a "quarter"
then i do think something is fishy about it...
and he probably delivers so that his house doesn't
look like a fucking drug house...
if it's crazy weed: continue to buy it
if not, ask him what's up:
he shouldn't be shorting you 1g each time- but make sure you weigh
out your next bag to see if it is continuous
think abou it this way- 1g adds up... you buy 28 1/4's and bam that's an ounce your missing

if the weed is good and the bags look decent who the hell cares if its a lil shy of 7 its just weed ..its not like its a huge amount of money and you said his is a lil cheaper than most others so whats the problem???plus he delivers ...this has become a problem the past few years people whining about 1/2 -1 grams of weed we never used scales when we were growing up except for quantity purchases or breaking up powders..any pot smoker should be able to break up an OZ by eye and get the saks with in a gram af each other..if a bag of weed LOOKS good as far as quality and the size looks fair-good i will take it and could care less what the scale says ...besides the with good weed being so scarce im many places the prices are higher for the OZs and most people have to go a lil under just to break even let alone turn a profit

Imo, he knows what he's doing and he's gonna keep doing it because he thinks you don't know. If he would've sold me a 6gram Q then I would've been pissed. I like my dealers to weigh it out exact, when I wanna buy a Q i better dam well get 7.0. Do whatever you want but I take short sacks as an insult.

Everyone seems to have pretty much the same take on it as I do. I pretty much look at it as paying for convenience. I was never too worried about it, but I figured I'd see what you all thought.

I definetly dont think I was whining about anything... Weed costs money, which I work hard for, I dont think its bitchey or whiney or whatever to want to get what you pay for.
