View Full Version : 3 bowls later and no buzz..

Well, I chopped my harvest down a few days ago, and for a quick taste I decided to zap a bud in the microwave. Well, 4 x 10 second zaps later I'm left crumbling my finished product into a bowl. I scooped some into my freshly cleaned sherlock bubbler and took a few rips.
It was a little harsh which I expected, in fact - every good bud I've ever bought in this town has been harsh as hell, not properly flushed or cured.
I smoked the entire bowl and decided to smoke another. A few more big rips, still not much of a feeling at all..
Decided to load another bowl. Big one. I was making the smoke in the pipe yellow for the duration of the hit before clearing.
I really hope curing effects potency as much as I've been reading it has. I know it should, but for god sakes. All I smoke is mids/shwag, decent dank is hard to find out here without shady dealers involved. This is bag seed bud, I obviously need to get my motarebel seeds already.

Was hoping it was a creeper but nothing.. I just feel a bit tired, time to smoke some mids!
How is everyone? What's everyone smoking currently? ;)

I got some OG Kush and Granddaddy Purple.
The cure will make a huge difference. Also microwaves destroy THC.
Let a bud dry over 2 nights. Then smoke that. The cure will still make a big difference. The cure should make a huge difference.

you cant hurry it ... patience is the key ... many growers sit for months during the grow, then smoke piss-poor pot because they got in a hurry ... chill, dude ... :smokin:

???? I don't know what that means? lol
I say that because of trials I've done. So it's my opinion.

Pwnt means you said something that was funny and the other guy has a loss because he didnt know that putting buds in the microwave destroys THC and he posted about it and when he finally finds out he goes "damn, I should've known" and I say "pwnt" it's just a joke or w/e anyways. :stoned:

So what does it stand for?

So what does it stand for?
The verb to pwn (past tense: pwned, pwnd, pwn'd, pwnt, pooned) as used by the Internet gaming subculture, means to beat or dominate an opponent. While it probably originated as a typing error of the word own, it is now used intentionally by many members of the subculture. The term has become so ubiquitous in Internet circles that it is often used outside of gaming contexts; for example, "He just got pwned in that debate" or "The hunters pwned that bear."

I can tell you where it originated as I used to be quite l33t at many online games a year back..
Pwnt - Pwned - Owned
Notice how the "P" is located right next to "O" on the keyboard?
Years and years ago, some jackass was playing an online FPS (first person shooter), killed a noob, and in his excitement meant to type "Owned" but instead typed "Pwned". They laughed about it for quite some time, joked about it more and more and it caught on.
Eventually there were many variations of pwned. (as Orangeman already showed)
Anyways! Thanks for the clearup on microwaves destroying THC - I had read the SoftSecrets guide to drying and curing and they recommended a quick dry method being a 10-15 second zap in the microwave a few times.
There was however one toke I had that tasted incredible.. all of the rest was that yummy chlorophyll taste (gag).
This is their 3rd day strung up, I'll go ahead and toss them into jars when the stems snap with ease and let them cure for AT LEAST 2 weeks before tasting.

PS - one bowl of those mids effed me up more than 3 bowls of my homegrown. (which is way more covered in trichomy goodness, tasted better a few times, and obviously looks better)
In spite of this, I'm not touching a single bud until they're done.

THC degrades in heat, which is why it's risky to dry in an oven or even chop it up in a blender (heat from friction)...I couldn't find the post, but Harddon had said the specific temp. Maybe 110f?
A microwave oven works by passing microwave radiation at a frequency of 2450 MHz through the object you want to "cook". Water, fat, and sugar molecules absorb energy from the microwave beam in a process called dielectric heating. Most molecules are electric dipoles, meaning that they have a positive charge at one end and a negative charge at the other, and therefore vibrate as they try to align themselves with the alternating electric field induced by the microwave beam. This molecular movement creates heat.
Even on a defrost setting, it isn't a lower frequency, but shorter bursts of the same frequency.
Grim, I can't even begin to tell you how much curing improves the high. Hmmmm....lemme put it this way: when I first did a quick dry and taste I would give it a 2 (barely) on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being great). I was bummed. I just wanted a crop that gave me a good buzz, but it took two big bowls for a decent buzz.
Cured for 30 days and and it was a 4. A skinny spliff and I had a good buzz.
BUT...
My buds that I cured for over 60 days were awesome...maybe an 8. A couple of hits and you are STONED. Same plants were all mixed together.
It makes all the difference in the world. It also gave me the confidence that I could grow and cure better weed than anything I could buy. Not many commercial growers are curing their bud for 90 days...

Wow ski:
This is just what I wanted to hear, and you couldn't have made me feel any better about my crop.
May I ask how you cured?

I love scientific explanations!

Darkness is not a myth...refering to your quote. Image reaper obviously grows very stable strains. Or doesn't get any light in his cabnet.
Comparing the moon and stars to a light leak really isn't right. Totally different. Strains that are F1's or just carry the hermie trait in there genes. Will always have a chance of hermieing if givin enough stress. Such as a broken dark period. Or a big light leak. Just thought you should know.
