Alright I've finally found the hydroponic system that I want to build the only thing is i don't know how to properly use it,all there is are plans on how to build it is the 11 plant start. This is it http://www.hydroponicsonline.com/11plan01.htm if any one could tell me it would be very appreciated thanks.

That is an ebb and flow system. The nutrients are are on a timer and pumped over the root system, which I assume is sitting in some medium like clay pellets, then it flows back down into the reservior, where hopefully it would be arieated with air stones or something.

This should work fine, but less complicated ones would do just as good for a beginner. For beginning weed growing 101 I tell all my students to build a cheap DWC system, where some of the root mass is constantly in ariated and hopfully somewhat turbulent nutrients.

One advantage of Ebb and Flow is that it keeps a lot of oxygen in the nutes, which is of course great for the plants. Many people don't realize that you can also do this with DWC if you put a pump in there that moves and ariates the nutes. There's less to buy and fiddle with with a DWC system such as an "Emily's Garden" set up. Search the web for this to see for yourself. To start I bought a used one of these for $60 complete. Since then I've made several better ones for about $30 complete. The air pump is the biggest expense.

But I digress... Good luck.

Ebb and flow are good. But most use bubblers or drip. That thing looks like it might be hard to clean and roots may clog the system. If you want to put one together look at these. You can build one for next to nothing or if you don't have time these are cheap. I run the 6 plant drip they have. I got 4 now so I can sea of green with them and not hard to move around. Check these out. You can buy or build. www.landmsales.com I'm shure latewood has a few systems you can build for cheaper too.

Thank's fella's I really apreciate you're opinions so basically all you need is a container
air pump w/ stone
net pots
nute's
and some kinda medium?

Oh yea I'm building this for lowryderz i wanna cram az much az i can since there so small in i geuss a 25-30 gallon tote i have. Lowryderz is the only thing i will be growing so any suggestion's?

Looks like you got it right. You don't have to spend much on the system. It's the extra's that count. Use hydrotron for medium. I would like to grow LR but haven't. It doesn't come in fem seed yet. So I would go for as many in 3 to 5 inch netpots I could. You have to weed out the males.

good look... my first batch im just gonna pollinate the shit out of them so i have a good supply of seed'z. how much light you think theze midgetz take?

The more light the better. More light equals more weed. I use 400 watts for veg and 600 for bloom.

more light = bigger root system = more weed

my advice to you is to make a plan, now. OK

You already chose to go with a 5 gallon bucket bubbler easiest to start with...you buy an extra bucket*, so each nute change...you just fill extra bucket with new nutes, pull top off bucket and change over...real easy. You can grow big plants with this method.
* buy extra airstones and a dual air pump...more power, and extra line if you need one. Wally's Boxmart sells one for 9-10 bucks.

Use hydroton in netpots for medium...and I would recommend 3.75" netpots, because you can procure a 3.5" holesaw at the hardware store and use it to make perfect hydro holes for eternity!!! That's about it...read up on nutes in the growfaqs and choose a regimen (remember, make a plan now).
You can go with something a simple as gh 3-part and Floraliscious or Liquid karma...this one additive will address most all of the plants extra needs. You will need a bloom booster of some kind...All co's make them

look into a reverse-osmosis filter on ebay for about 90 bucks...It'll save you a ton of money if you plan on using distilled water, and will also allow the good nutes to buffer the ph in the manner they were designed to.

Just a little start-up advice off the top of my head...goodluck lw

When you get your nutes get cal-mag-plus and liquid Karma. Those are the most important add ons. You have to add back to the water what has been takin out. Go for the RO sytem. I have a distiller and it much more money to distill. I knew nothing till I got here ,if I can do it you can too.

I 2nd that. good catch! I can't believe I recommended RO without mentioning Calmag+ I really learned here mostly...I read a long time (months) before I ever registered and joined the forums. I couldn't imagine asking the 'wrong' question...So I waited months...registered, and then I started asking stupid question's...LOL just kidding around guys.

Now the growfaqs are getting stronger everyday.

As far as the hole saw, you can buy them all the way up to 8 inches I think. I just looked at a 6" one that was about $60. 3.75 inch seems a little small to me for holding a root mass securly, but it would probably be fine. I like 6 inch, and use the CNC at work to cut holes.

I still use 5" for mothers and in DWC because I have so many 5" tops. If I knew what i knew now though...I would go completly with the 3.75...

I just wanted to add this. In the end. It works either way.

I would get a male, remove from grow area and continue growing and use the paper bag method to pollinate a few buds if seeds were needed.

And, once you have an all female crop, why not just clone ? That way you KNOW you got girlies for sure.

But, it's your crop, do as you may. And, I am far from an expert on growing.

He wants to grow lowryder so I don't think they clone at all, not shure . Maybe because they autoflower from the beginning and won't reveg. I think it's the only draw back of lowryder. And no fem seeds yet, bummer.

from dopeseeds.com
"Having no vegetative stage, Lowryder canā??t be cloned or regenerated, for all intents and purposes."

I thought all weed varieties could be cloned. Wierd. Are you sure? Has anyone tried?

LOC NAR1958

from all the info on reading about them,NO CLONE. Since they auto flower right from the start no reveg at all. Many have tried. It will be a few years before they have a stabill fem seed. Read up.

yea you cant clone theses little guy's because of the autoflowering trait and + they skip the entire veg. stage.Thats the ONLY reason why im pollinateing the whole crop I figure if I have 300+ seed's i really don't need to clone especially due to the short life span can't wait to get started just waiting on a good deal for seeds there so exspensive.
