THE RULES ARE:

1.ALL TOPICS must be in ENGLISH
2. Enough english so mods know content of message
3. You may state phrases and sentences, quote references in your native language, but this is something the mods reserve the right to enforce. basically, the mods must know the general idea and feel of the message. If we feel this is being abused then it will become a English ONLY rule.

This particular rule may change, but as of right now, this is now a MOSTLY ENGLISH FORUM.

This applies to the entire site, not the local forums alone. I felt that it would be good to post this in the lounge so that the majority of posters will understand this rule.

Thanks,

Por que?

Yo no se. I only speak Espanol.

Ah.. but you see.. you don't speak only Espanol, as this site is built in english. Everyone that signs up to this site speaks at least a minimal amount of english. Yes, it can be translated...but poorly. These online translators are useful but not very reliable. This rule will not apply to many people as the majority of you post in english anyways. There are however many people that prefer to use their native language. This is where this rule now applies. We can't have people communicating openly in other languages as we are unable to properly moderate what's going on. It's a saftey issue. :) It's nothing against anyone of course.. and we're not excluding anyone.. but this site is deigned for an english based audience.. so that's how it's going to be.

There are LEO that roam this site...They.. like everyone else, have a right to view this site. They want to ensure we're not breaking any major laws...which we're not. We plan to keep it that way too. You wonder why the moderators are hardasses sometimes? It's for the saftey of the site, the owner and everyone that posts here. We moderate for saftey and comfort...but saftey first.
On a side note, I'm not sure what all this worrying crap is about... if anything the new owners are going to take this site further than Ron's resources allowed him...And NO... this site was not bought by a seed company or HomeLand Security...These people are activists and potheads just like the rest of us...so stop assuming the worst.

There are many changes in the works right now....changes that will become apparent over the next couple of weeks.

Cannabis.com is now in 12/12, after Ron's long and productive vegetative cycle...It's time for this site to Flower.

Cheers,
Bob.

I posted that in another thread and feel that it could be just as useful said here.

Ha Ha moneyman, might be a tad offensive though.
you might have to be tisk-tisk'ed for that.

lol hempomatic, anyone could have done that with one of those translater sites.
but it would be really cool if you actually knew those, ermm, 7? languages..

I'm actually glad this happened. Hey, the less scammers and... well... illegal dealers, the safer the regular posters are.

Oh, and hempomatic, it's funny that it couldn't understand the word zapped.

If it's in the "Urban Dictionary", I guess, it's allowed.

I am sure there is a way round this like a dictionary showing the english word and other language.

It annoys me and I think its quite lazy and disrespectful to go to another country to live and not learn their language.English speaking people think that because most countries speak english so there is no need to learn that countries language and its BS.

It's hard to see people that I've always known thinking that most countries speak English. I grew up in a city that's 16% Puerto Rican.

When I was younger all I ever remember hearing was english and now I think how boring it was.Even though I cant understand a word they say I still like to hear different languages being spoken when I am out and about.

It depends on if it's Arabic, or not. There's something rough about the language, it's not like French or Spanish.

i wanted to take a minute and touch on this subject..

i dont have an issue with the english only type rule..it is a US based site, for one, and for two, when ppl are talking in other languages, you dont know what they are saying, and that can make a site liable in many many ways..there have been past instances where there have been very bad posts and problems and whatnot in other languages..

hidden beauty..it is way beyond that.....we already take hours out of our day to work on these boards and whatnot, just to help out..how long would it take to sit with a dictionary and translate as well? maybe you would like to post in feedback and suggestions and volunteer yourself to do this in your spare time, if you feel so strongly? (this being said if i understood you right, and i may not have..it was kinda hard for me to make out)

most ppl around here lately have made it out to be that everything is so black and white, and it isnt..there are many other issues that go hand in hand with new rules, including liability and site responsibility..

just my thoughts and opinions, and well, you know what they say about opinions...
