Crispy brown tips?

My plant has 6 sets of leaves and is a little over 3 weeks old. My cam broke so i cant use that now, but the problem is the bottom 2 sets have brown tips that are dry and crisp. This happened after I watered, all of the other leaves are fine though. It is only about a 16th of an inch of these. And incase your wondering, its fine with the number of leaves, tall, slow growing strain.

I tried to water more often and they got a litlle better, then went back to brownish, should i just water alot often?

the lowest leaves naturally die away as the plant gets older i dont think its anything to worry about if it starts spreading uppwards faster than the plant is growing then u might have a parisite of fungi infection but at th moment i wouldent worry about it

Sounds like its having root problems. You're also probably overwatering believe it or not. How big is the pot? Too small and the roots cant grow anymore, thus niether can the top of the plant. How dense is the soil? If its too dense the roots cant spread through the soil easily and it will use energy from the leaves to help the roots, thus killing the leaves. Is your soil draining well enough to allow the soil to be aired out?

Those are some questions to ask yurself when leaves turn yellow or brown..

Oh, are you using any fertilizers? If so, cut back on them. Flush the soil with clean water..

Also try checking you pH, after I changed to a new soil mix, the first 2 batches of plants I grew croaked right over. The first thing that happned is the leaf tips curled and turned brown, then I noticed all the stems were purple, then I saw the veins on the leaves were purple and even the new leaves themselves were purple. All signs pointed to a nutrinet deficincey, but it seemed like it was Phosporus, Magnesium, and signs of one or 2 others. My crappy pH meter said it was ok for a few days, but then started reading a pH or around 4.5. I had used peat moss and not nearly enough lime to couteract the acidity. After several treatments with lime water, the pH of the soil was about right but the 2 weeks or so of stress killed all but one of the second batch. The first batch I foolishly assumed was just overwatering and watched them slowly turn brown from the bottom up, the leaves began twisting in wierd ways first, then started wilting from the tips, then the entire leaf would die, then up to the next set of leaves. Horrible thing to watch!

ok, i checked the ph with a set from a gardnin store, was 7.034. thats really good isnt it? its in a three gallon pot. With the dense soil idea, could you poke straws into it and blow making the soil spread out to loosen it up? And do all of the leaves under the final number of points die or what? this is my second grow and my first this relly never happend.....

7.0 is too high I would say. You want it between 6.3 and 6.8

ok, but somewhear else i read 7.0 is neutral and that is what rainwater and distilled whater are.

I wouldnt advise it. If the plant has outgrown its pot, which is very likely, then youll need to transplant it.(too bad you dont got pics) Sticking anything into the pot will damage the roots even more. 7pH is neutral. Your pH is great, for now. You want a steady neutral pH for seedlings, but as the flowers start forming you will want to let the pH rise a little.

forget this lime shit.
get straight coco fibre, hydroponic grade.
water with nutes daily at cf20, pH 6.2 get 30% runoff.
use coco specific 2-part nutrients and use a pk additive in bloom.
easy.
best of soil and hydro
put a tank on a timer and water for 1 min adding 1 min feeds every time theres no runoff. when theres 3x 1min feeds change em to 2 min feeds.

drop your ph!! leech soil with 6.3-6.5 ph distilled water, but it`s just my opinion. over 7.0 ph will put your plants in nute lock, which means it wont absorb the nutrients. a simple solution to lowering ph in the water would be to add distilled white vinaeger

i beleive it may just be the old leaves dyin because only the one and 3 pointers are doin this, all the others are a nice sativa green and doing fine.
