hey hows it goin everyone.. um ive attempted to grow last year and got my baby as tall as like 2 inch. lol but i did'nt do enough research and did not have the proper equipment. anyways ive germinated my two seeds already and put them into cups. there are still things that i am unsure of, like any other newbe, but hopefully with some help this grow will be a good one. :)anyways im watering them every-other day and have a big flor. coil light over them about 6 hours a day. they have had light on them for one day now.. my plan is to grow them into little seedlings about 2-3 inch tall them ouside they will go. so if anyone has any advise as to the temp. change, watering or anything else i need 2 know then that would be awsome!
P.S. Later on ill get some pictures up

I too am growing some weed of my own, you should have about a cubic foot of dirt (potting soil) per plant you plan to grow. If you plan to use Miracle Grow, like I do, cut it down to somewhere between 6 and 8 cubic inches of soil per plant, if you use more than that you run the risk of burning the roots, then your plants are no good. Use a 75watt Florecent bulb, and keep it about 20 inches from the top of the plants, and just so you know the more light you give them the more females you get, but give them too much and it doesn't really have any possitive effect on them. Watter them with about 150ml of water every week, once the plants get above 3 or 4 inches in hight you can change to 150ml every 3 to 4 days, make sure you do not saturate the soil, you just want it damp, you don't want to drown the roots. And so you know about 16 hours of light a day seems to work best.

OH and as for the light, how ever long the light is out side, thats how long i keep it on inside.. more natural and will reduce the shock when it goes outside

If you can post a pic, we'd be able to help better/quicker, but usually the leaves going to a "V" towards the light means they are happy. Just don't fret, if it gets worse let us know.

imho, back lights off 4inches.take another cup same size as the one ur grow in,same mix, fill cup, weigh its dry weight, wen cup ur growin weighsthat amont water.thats a standard amont of water for a plant that age in that size pot.folded up leafs sounds lik heat.also wen u put them out side u harden them off by puting them outside for a 1/2 hr,each day increase the expsposure by a 1/2 hr each day. peace buthead/

The light needs to be on no less than 18 hours.. a day

Some poeple use 24hrs for the seedlings or try Garden Knowm's 23hrs on and 1 off.

I'd love to see pictures. My plants are only a little more than a week older than yours, so it will be interesting to see how different they are. I can tell you that your plants do look a little tall, and a little far behind for their age. Like Garden Knowm said, the lights need to be on no less than 18 hours a day. Plus, you're using CFLs, so there really isn't any danger of them being too strong or hot for your little seedlings. Oh, and about uploading the pictures, just upload them, and follow the instructions. Then, it will stop, and then hit okay, or close or whatever, and then you will see where you typed, and underneath that it will show your attatchments that you are including. Then just post it, and the pictures should be there. Wait, you've already uploaded pictures before, so you know how to do it. I don't know what's wrong then, but let's see some PICS!
Best of luck!

Yelram, how much Watts is that fluero putting off? real curious to know since ive only just started growing with flueros too

hi fever....
it looks like his lights are 150 watt cfls.. about 10 dollars a pop...

these are great lights for small grows... the trick is to keep them as close to your plants as possible... and to surround your FLOWERING plant with these lights...

yelram.. congrats on the grow... I look forward to more pictures

heyy.. thanks Garden knowm! no i did'nt.. if i was planning on keeping the plants in this location i would have put them straight into the ground.. but i just want them outside (in this location) for now.. when they get big this spot is waaayyyy to heat.. other location that i chose is perfect, im gonna put them there in a couple of days:) so my plan is to dig a hole about 3ft wide and 5ft deep in the ground for each plant, when the holes are empty im going to fill them with soil! i know that for alot of people haveing the proper soil is very important, but does it really matter for me to go and spend a handfull of money on it?!? im not saying that im gonna go cheep... so what do i 'need' in the soil? any help would be great:)
p.s how about that plant thats not doing to good:(

Time and experience are the best things. You'll pick up
tricks of the trade with each grow. What pH level fertilizer
are you planing on using for the vegetive stage?
I been growing for 6 years and use 20-20-20 every
2 weeks for the vegetive stage.

Garden Knowm

5 feet deep is very deep and not necessary... BUT if it is going to be your grow location for many years... then it is a good investment to dig deep...

get a high quaility organic soil... mix in manure...chicken and cow... if you are going to have easy access to water... you should mix in perlite.. especially at about 2-3 feet deep..

ok .. thanks for the help:) yaill take your advise and will not dig as huge of a hole lol its better for me anyways! ive got some garden soil from under the deck so ill use that. about the manure.. i liove more in the country, i could try to steal some from a farmer but not gettin show will be a little hard lol jk.
thanks~
