how is it that i hear of so many people buying from cannabis clubs, and more importantly, in Cali... are cannabis clubs even legal? if so, how the hell do they get away with it? i'm so confused about cannabis clubs....

I'm not from or in Cali so I think somebody else will chime in with a better answer but... I think the state of california has legalized it for medical purposes. So if u have a medical card u can buy it at a club. It's not however deemed legal by the Federal government and they still bust and raid big grow ops and clubs as they see fit.

Cannabis clubs are the only thing that is sort of legally aloud to distribute them i guess...

My friend got his card for migraines and he went in there and said its so well hidden in crappy streets and when you go in, theres a huge guard and he looks at your id and then you go to someone else and they scan your Picture id card with identification and shit...

i dunno what ur asking though i`m confused and baked

Hey just letting you know, I have a cannabis club, we meet once a month in some cheep motel in the ghetto of orlando. ID's are checked at the door, each person that enters is checked for wires by two methods, they are first run over with a metal decetor and then are made to strip so we may check and be sure. Cameras and cell phones are put in the room safe and are not taken out until the end of the meeting. Each member is requred to bring different weed each time they come to the club and are required to bring their own meathod of smoking, whether it be papers or a glass peice.

i guess i kind of understand it now, but from what i had previously heard, through my wife (i told her she was wrong) is that there was like only 5-6 people in america that are legally able to smoke weed, due to medical concerns... i was just wondering how they are so well talked about, and in america and all that, yet the govt. doesn't do shit about them, i was just confused  ok but basicly, they're well hidden, partially legal(?), and you have to have a medical card to even get in right?

also, what happens if you happened to be in the 'cannabis club' whenever police decided to raid it, would you go to jail too? i mean, you do have a medical card and all....

Here's the deal

In California, if you have a valid medical reason for smoking weed, and a note from the doctor stating this, you can legally buy and possess weed as far as the state of California is concerned. It is still illegal on the Federal level though.

So, if you're walking down the street with an oz of stinky weed in your hand and a local cop, say San Jose PD for example, sees you, you just pull out your doctors note and/or id card and he'll walk the other way, he can't bust you. On the other hand, if you are in one of California's National Parks, like Yosemite, and a ranger catches you, you will still be arrested because the National Parks are under Federal jurisdiction and State Law doesn't apply.

Since sick people need a place to buy thier weed, and not have to worry about getting ripped off in some shady part of town, the State has also legalized the Cannabis Clubs. Basically these are like stores that sell weed. You walk in and their are all kinds of different strains displayed. I've heard some clubs have 60 or more strains at a time. You can pick and choose what you want, sativas or indicas, or crosses of the two. Unfortunately, due to zoning restrictions these clubs are often in pretty shady parts of town themselves. And, like already mentioned, you have to show your id to get in past the burly security guy at the door.

Again, these clubs are legal as far as the State is concerned. They are still illegal as far as the Fed is concerned so the DEA can, and does, raid them from time to time. So far, however, most of the raids have been on clubs with supposed ties to organized crime. Not sure what would happen if the DEA raided a club while you were in it. Probably depended on their mood and what you looked like. If you were an oviously sick cancer patient near death, they'd probably let you go. Card carrying Republicans would probably be let go too. If you had long hair, a Dead shirt, and claimed to use it for "migraines", howver, they just might give you a hard time.

I think you're right about the 5-6 people thing. At least as far as the U.S Government is concerned. Remember, even in California, the Feds (DEA, etc) can still arrest you if they want. It's just the California government that say's its legal.

Those 5-6 people that you heard about on Montel can also use it legally in the eyes of the U.S. Government so even the DEA can't touch them. I think they're human guniea pigs though and probably get poked and prodded on a pretty regular basis. Probably not too much fun.

they were grandfathered into the program in the late 70's after nixon figured out there is no useful medical purpose for cannabis.

11 states now say otherwise with 2 more waiting for a vote but only california has a public distribution system in place and they're mostly in the larger cities and most need a county and/or city license to operate.

It's the people of California and our Constitution that says it's legal. The state government knows this to be true and are helpless to do anything even if they wanted. The Feds are over-reaching.

Wow, what are you smoking?
It's legal for a number of California patients because we, the California mmj activists, worked hard to get the laws changed with Prop 215 and later semi-clarified with SB420. It has nothing to do with California's State Constitution. The feds are *not* over-reaching as the SCOTUS has sided with the controlled substances act on numerous occaisions and, as I've said many times before, the way to fix the current federal problem is to reschedule. I used to believe that might happen until I found this website.

Do you have *any* idea how many retards have tried that "right to pursue happiness" line as a defence for breaking the laws and failed? You can stick to ignorance if you want but you're still wrong about mmj laws in California and the Constitution. If delusion is more comfortable, for you, than fact and truth, then you believe what you want, I just hope the other members are smart enough to know that you're making shit up that "sounds good," just to delude yourself.

Holding my truths and values is important to me. Especially when there are those who use threats against me. Ignorance? It is because of my beliefs and my willingness to defend them that i am able to grow my own cannabis.
I will not back down just because Big Brother threatens me. Thats not retarded. Thats what being an American is all about.
The only reason our forefather didnt feel the need to protect the cannabis hemp plant is because they were writing on it, wearing it, smoking it, using it for oil, medicine, textiles, uniforms, sails, rope, lubricants, etc etc. They had no idea that future american leaders would allow themselves, or that we would allow them, to be taken over by what we now know as , Corporate America, who are the ones desiging "laws", which they have no legal right to do, that outlaw this most useful crop. The laws are unconstitutional when it comes to cannabis, and when kids like you, who are so willing to do as you are told, and what you can do and cant do, by an over-reaching government, decide to really defend your rights, you may stand a chance.
I choose to take my rights seriously. I choose to stand in the face of those who would try and use the friends they select to the courts as a tool to get their way, instead of protecting my rights. Your corporate bought government and courts arent going to take away what is my god given right.
You want to kiss their ass and hand this country and your rights over to them, have at it. I refuse. Retard? how fucking juvenile can you get?>

As far as how many times the right to pursue happiness has failed in America in courts?
I prefer to count the times it has succeeded.
Those who i count on to defend my beliefs arent the government and their rich friends who control them..., or the courts. Those who i count on are my Fellow Americans. The Jurors.
Deciding to allow the government dish out your rights is whats "retarded"
I will continue to demand and exercise mine.
Now, i need to go water my 35 new plants. Worry free. Just like it is, and should be, here in San Francisco.
Let me know where i am wrong about California and the MMJ laws. This should be a hoot.

Any laws that are designed and based on lies, racism, and greed, are laws that deserve no repect/no recognition. If having you call me delusional is the worst thing that happns to me today, i'll take it.
Thankfully we had other such great Americans as Rosa Parks who refused to obey an unjust law/unconstitutional law(and it was a law none-the-less) and said "Fuck you" to those who would make her sit in the back of the bus and give her seat up to whites. It is Americans like her that i salute. Not those like you who follow their leaders up mountains of shame looking for others to blame.
San Francisco is a great and wonderful place. Name any other place in America , or the world, that has over 40 cannabis clubs operating in full public view. We have parades for those who the rest of America discarded and hated. We have a lot to be proud of here, and i for one am proud to live in such a diverse community of beautiful colorful brave people.

the cannabis club is a dispensary where you can go and buy your pot. they range from the very deluxe to hole-in-the-wall establishments. some of them let you smoke on site, even furnishing bongs and vaporizors and a friendly atmosphere. usually you just walk up to the counter and they will have the strains and prices listed on a board. you can get edibles and "extract" (not hashish since it's technically not approved for medical use), the best marijuana available, etc.

everybody in california is getting medical cannabis because it is very easy to do so. i'm guessing that probably 20 percent of "cardholders" only have their cannabis card so that they can distribute cannabis. with respect to this fact, i believe that the medical marijuana system in california needs to be reformed, as it really *is* being exploited by criminals and people who just want easy access to their weed. many cardholers do in fact sell their weed to other people, smoke it with other people, and use it recreationally. the card is a loophole in the system. this is because many clinics are very leniant in writing recommendations. i can say from experience, when i applied for my card it was as simple as filling out an application and speaking with the doctor for a brief moment. Because california law is written so vague, you could probably in theory obtain a medical marijuana recommendation for any ailment, including *chronic boredom* heh.

and THAT is why so many people are getting cannabis club weed. they've got friends with cards who will hook it up, or they have cards themself. even the fucking dealers themselves will obtain a card so that they can go buy it from such a reliable source. that's why the FDA needs to approve it for medical use and it can be put in the pharmacy. i'm down for medical marijuana but i hate to see it abused like this.

While I won't argue that the laws are bad, they are the laws and have held up by SCOTUS over and over, therefore making them constitutional. The only way to fix the problem is to reschedule. If you want to stay in denial, that's your choice.

Rosa Parks was, indeed, a great woman and patriot. Please don't confuse yourself with her. SHE was right.

SF is the *joke* of the nation. Even in liberal Los Angeles we make fun of San Franciscan's bass-ackwards socialist delusions. They act surprised when the liberal 9th circuit court of appeals is the most over turned court in the nation. Why do they think they're special or even inteligent?

I am proud to inform you that i do grow some of the finest cannabis in California, and quite possibly the whole dern entire world. My bubble hash and going bananas bread is outtasight.

I hope that all is as well as can be with you. I know that you have had a rough and perhaps confusing last couple of weeks dealing with death and separation.

Peace,

The last think I need is advice from a SF retard, seriously, you never counted. Take props 81/82 during the election. Socialist SF overwhelmingly approved both tax and spend measures but, of course, the rest of liberal California shot them down. SF tards are out of touch, as your advice and opinions prove.
