Hey Im started to get into driving, and ive been reading the California drivers hand book, and it says under Minor's liscense requirements that you must agree to submit to a chemical test to determine the alchohol or drug content of your blood when required by a peace officer.
Will this test for marijuana? Would there be a problem if they detected it?

Nope, unless they piss test you on your way to jail your all set with a breathalizer test thet cant determine if your high, If you smell like weed your fucked, but no the test wont detect weed
That is a great relief hearing that, if you are sure that is:dance:
Well I have a little story that may help you...
I live in southern California. Got my permit in 04 and license April of 05 on my 16th bday.
In October of 2005 I was pulled over in south LA county for driving with my lights dimmed. The officer smelled marijuana so pulled me out, searched my pocket, and found about 2 grams of weed. Next thing I know they give me field sobriety tests and determine I am driving under the influence of weed and meth. I had done meth 3 days before (although I am not a big meth user at all, only done it 3 times in my life). Anyways, they took me for a blood test and found no meth but weed. I was charged with DUI-marijuana and possession of marijuana.
It ended up okay I jsut got 6 months of probation and it will be dropped cause it was a first offense but anyways my point is...be careful! I used to get stoned all the time drive everywhere then I learned the hard way that you can actually get caught.

As a minor in Cali, it sounds like you have essentially no rights (like probable cause).
Being stoned in your car is the easiest way to get busted. In some states, just the claim that a cop smells weed is enough to search. A dog can sniff out a roach in your astray in no time.
Best advice is to keep your ride weed free.
