I am growing in my bedroom closet as of right now due to high temps in florida. i was wanting to move my grow downstairs so no one gets wise about it but i tryed that before and my temps were reaching 90F at night and my plants were kind of wilting a bit. i was looking into portable a/c units and what have you, but they drain soooooomuch power, so i found this air cooler.( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0008JFNU0/qid=1147220956/sr=1-12/ref=sr_1_12/002-0788172-0051256?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=kitchen&v=glance&n=284507 ) would this be able to keep a room that is 4' x 4' x 8'? i am running only one 400w hps but am thinking of putting a 600 in there next and doing a cooltube for each of them. thanks

well the review of the AC unit on that link says it blows. but not cool air
He says he has to put ice in it, and it only lowered the temp by 1-2 degrees.
and its a humidifier, not sure that will be good for the plants.

Serious CFM is what you need....
Can you build a cool tube? Or get an air cooled hood? Or semi-directly cool your bulbs?
The Amazon cooler looks... like not for growing... more like... for old ladies... must be like.... warm dog breath.... not enough... "cooling"....

ya the more i thought about it and read different descriptions it sounds like an expensive fan really. i have an air cooled hood with the flanges the glass and what not but i have no where to vent that hot air. i wanted to try making a cooltube, but again there is no where to vent the air. the money is not the issue, the power consumption is what scares me. i was reading that a 700btu portable a/c unit uses around 1000 watts of power on top of the 400 i am already using plus the 600 that will be coming soon, it makes me nervous of the amount of power i will be draining. is this a reasonable concern or am i just being overly cautious? does anyone know what 7000BTU is in wattage? thanks
