I have pondered this thought because even when there was what seemed to be smoke depending on the temp setting, seemed, after thinking about it, to be steam, because there is no ash, and it rises in air just like smoke, and i thought maybe we were getting carbon monoxide because that is lighter than air, but then after thinking about steam, steam is also lighter than air, and so i took a big intentional steam hit, and realized that it felt like steam when inhaling, like over boiling water, and i also noticed, that the longer i held it in, the faster the inititial expansion feel dissapeared to nothing... and heavy smokers will always gag on those hits because there lungs are burned, and the steam goes right to it.... Can anyone confirm or deny these things? there is more knowledge in a multitude of counselors... Thanks!

Huh? When using a vaporizer your inhaling vapor. Steam refers to vaporized water, so unless your sticking ice cubes in there I don't think so...
I think anyways, if I understand your question...

ehhh..... it was probally just vapor amigo. A good vape hit can look like smoke/steam in the right light.. The coughing tends to come from hot air filling your lungs. That's why many people are starting to go with bag system vapes, where u can let the air cool before you inhale.
Eitherway I dont mind ;)

You know what? I would think that if the weed had some moisture in it or even if there were high relative humidity or perhaps some very light condensation on the bowl of the vape, you could have gotten some steam with your vapor. . .

hey i appreciate eveyones response, i think i am making progress with all of this new information, im almost to the finish line.. but one thing i need to mention is no one i know of or heard of has ever switched from the vaporizer that i have now to a unit using a bag, and the air isnt really all that hot, it goes through a water filter before inhaling and it only makes heavy smokers gag, not myself because i only vaporize........ thanks again!

Any moisture that's in the material you're vaping boils off, including all of the different oils found in any organic material. Some of these compounds just have higher boiling points than others, so the hotter your set temperature, the more things are boiling off and turning into vapor. As long as you're not setting things on fire though, you shouldn't be getting any carbon monoxide.

fabulous! ok i have a great idea, i will do a test to make sure i am not getting any carbon monoxide.. i have a carbon monoxide meter, and thats what im going to use to find out.. test results soon to come!

just did the test, my brother hit the bong, and blew out at least 55 ppm of carbon monoxide, the alarm went off saying to vacate the premises! i hit the aromed vaporizer at 156F (max setting) and blew out a big vapor clowd onto the tester and it maintained a 000 ppm reading never flinching.... but i should have known that would be the result sinse carbon monoxide is essentially partially burned gas,... but i just wanted to confirm that and do my own test...
