i dont have access to large cfl, so i thought of using 6 30w CFL (150W incandecent equivalent) (Warm white, 2700k, 1700 lumens), would 6 of them be ok for flowering 2 plant in a 5feet sqr?
honestly no, the yield will be quite poor, you can veg the plants fine with them, just may take a week or two longer to get them to a good size. really, if you have to use the cfls, use 10 or more of them. I really dont suggest flowering with them cause you might get 1/8th off each plant instead of 1-2oz using an HID light. I did my first grow with floro and cfls and the 2 females were 2.5 feet high, got less than a half off both, I had 6 26watt cfls and 6 15watt 2ft floro tubes.
It will work, and you can grow them big with cfls, but HID does the job so much better, I only use cfls in my house for lighting now, not growing.
Actually thats not true. You can use CFL's for veg and flower and if you use the right spec light and its positioned around the plant properly you will get a good yeild. Obviously, a HID (MH or HPS/LPS) will always work better.

great lamp selection here, and good prices, shipped from Texas ... I had good luck with them ... http://www.1000bulbs.com/category.php?category=1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=halogen&utm_campaign=main&CMP=KNC-Google&HBX_PK=halogen&HBX_OU=50
read the bulb details, most have choice of warm or cool spectrums :smokin:

and if i had to choose the HID which watts would be better for a 60H,30W,32D. and it has to be in the 2700k spectrum right?
does it make a difference between HID and metal halide or high pressure sodium?

I don't know how good the light spectrum is on the 100 watt ones I get from WalMart, but they sell 3 to a pack for under 6 dollars. I haven't ever seen them sold for less. Save your reciept - I've had a couple go bad, but they're warrenty is good for 5 years.
