I love weed. Its a small usualy daily habbit that i partake in to calm down after a fucked up day doing what i always have to do. when i first started smokin weed it was great, just got high all the time. Then it started gettin in the way of things so i cut back, and now its majorily before i go to bed.
The problem i have is that over the past copule years, my friends have turned into major stoners. All they do night after night is sit around and smoke pot. It is ZERO fun. They spend all their money on weed and then dont wana go do anything else cause it might cost two dollars.
Anytime something fun is going down, they're two hours late cuase they had to buy weed and smoke it somewhere cause they couldnt smoek wherever we were.
i dont know, maybe im just an asshole. But i have no other friends and its just really fucking annoying.
anybody wana put in theire .02 cents?

I'm a daily smoker, but I know self control. I'm the opposite as you though only one or two of my fucking friends smoke weed. I'm lucky though none of them seem to mind if I smoke anywhere around them.

I related more to your friends in that story. Why is it zero fun? :(

its not that fun because they dont have fun doing it. They do it like fiends getting heroin. They get super paranoid and only smoke in the shadiest of places. They never wana stay in the same spot becuse they get paranoid and then just drive around aimlessly doing the 'what are we gonna do tonight' bull shit where i was perfectly fine hanging out in the park we were sitting at.

Dude, you are not being an asshole, you are completely on point. Your friends are turning into one-dimensional loser pot-heads. You should just separate from the group and meet other people.
The thing you said about how they're cheap as shit and complain about spending money on anything besides pot is very true. I have a few friends like this and shit sometimes I get like that when I'm depressed.
One way to solve it is to take them all out to a bar and get them shitfaced. Sometimes a night of drinking and doing stupid shit really brings back that excitement in life.
You're maturing a lot faster than your friends, so you should either try to get them on your level or get friends that you can chill with and have fun. But you should in no way drop to their shitty pothead stage.

Looks like your friends are just abusing the shit then. Go to a punk rock show and meet new people!

haha, punk rock...not my style lol. The problem with the "take em to the bar' deal is that we're underage. They just need a freakin hobby or something. ANYTHING. but what am i supposed to say without looking like an arsehole? I tend to come off as overly truthful So i have reserves

All people are different. Perhaps they are showing signs of mental addiction...perhaps they just REALLY like getting high.
Stuff like this is not uncommon. There are people who CAN'T seem to do anything untill they have a cup of coffee too.
It's not really the most healthy thing...to spend alot of your time and/or money on something. But people do it all the time.
Let them know you care and you don't want to see cannabis affect their life in a negative way (if it truely is). Cannabis like most things, can be both a positive or negative impact on a persons life. Sadly, the illegal nature of using cannabis makes the prices of the substance very expensive. This is something that can't be helped unless you find a good connection or choose to grow yourself. That alone can certainly have a negative impact on financial stability. To me however, that's just another reason why criminlization of cannabis harms more people than if it were legal.
Anyways....just let them know you care and are concerned....that's really all you can do.
Best of luck and take care!

My friend was like this. Smoking constantly, never enjoying it, simply doing it to do it. Getting dumb high and then just "chilling" with almost no activity whatsoever.
He realized how much time he had wasted a year later and quit for good. His lungs were also giving him problems. Some people just can't handle it but it's hard to convince them without looking like a dick. I really don't know how to do it, it's pretty much up to the individual to come to that realization and make a change for themselves.

thanks man,
its not that they need it to start their day type thing
they 'need' it, and then just sit there. i WISH they smoked up and then got all energysing. But it seems like they get instantly burnt and just veg out. Im more engergetic, but i dont blame them for that.
sometimes id just like to see them DO something. Play some bball..go fishing. Anything other then smoke pot. It just kills me cause they wernt always like this.
oh yeah, sometimes they hacky sack haha

This individual is a group. So they support eachother to smoke. Its always the three of them. Somestimes four, but the fourth has her own agenda
