Yeah, Yeah. I dropped out of High School. Twice:smokin:

When I quit the second time I was in a lot of trouble and decided/pushed to go into the Army. At that time only the Army and the Navy would accept no high school diploma. So, off I went into the Army 10 days after my 17th birthday. About a year and a half later I took a course and then a test and I recieved a High School Diploma from the state of Florida.

I dropped out, or should I say requested by the school board to drop out, back in "79". I had my G.E.D. a week after my class graduated in "80" and received an Associates degree in Fluid Power Technology in "88".

Haha, I also dropped out of high school! (twice) The first time only because I wanted to party 24/7; the 2nd time because I needed immediate cash, and was offered a job making $15.00 an hour, (A good wage for an 18 year old in 1990) which didn't pan out, so I got my G.E.D. which is absolute crap! I tried to join the military during the first gulf war, but they would'nt accept a high school drop out, so...

I now draw disability, and do some some un-mentionables to get by. I own my own home, own my own car, have a big screen t.v. in my basement, and have spending cash at the end of each month. Even so, I wish I had stayed in school, then went on to college to get a degree in phsychology, being I'm mental and all...

I'm poor as dirt, lol!

Not really, but I would love to make $60,000 a year legit!

Instead of dropping out, I went to high school, worked my ass off, and graduated when I was 16.

And smoked weed every day.

God I love the American school system.

I graduated with the exact limit of days missed and barely passable grades. Not enough to get into a good school, but that's what I get for not trying. But by god I graduated with the rest of my class

It took me a good 3 times to finally graduate high school. The first time though, I was tired of assholes at school and I wanted money, so I quit as soon as I turned 16. Worst mistake I ever made, but at 21 I decided to get my equiv. diploma and I finally got it after 2 years of college. My advice, don't drop out. :)

I dropped out most of my freshman year, went back for a semester in my sophimore year and then was out for another 4-5 months during my sophomore year due to depression and other complications. I'm back in school, an alternative school and am working my ass off to complete two years of work in two months. If I don't graduate with my class my friends and I are moving to NYC and I'm going to put myself in a highschool there or an art school. I'm not stupid, I'm quite intelligent (as most drop outs are, ironically)

I guess you can say I was a drop out. I left high school my junior year and got my GED so I could study abroad. Unfortunately most colleges won't really accept a GED so when I got back to the States I was fucked. After a year in tech school all was right again and I was deemed "worthy" of acceptance into a major university where I eventually graduated.

Don't be afraid of the road less traveled. College is "93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple." And in reality, a very short solution to a longer problem. Most of my high-school mates just graduated the traditional college track and are currently unemployed. I feel sorry for them.

Those of us capable of surviving without the silver spoon of "tradition" will inherit the Earth.

Damn, I'm kindof dissapointed that there are so many dropouts. No offense to anyone who did. I could care less what others do. Just sucks to see that some stereotypes have some truth to them :(

i dropped out last week, and am currently working towards my GED

It's easy.

I took like two months of classes for some twelve hour minimum, and with not even a prior tenth grade education I passed it.

why drop out?

how about graduate at 16, and start up your own buissness at 18 giving riding lessons and traning horses.
..oh and also sell shit on ebay to make some spending cash.
then sell your art on the side.

wow..
some things in life scare me.

I was damn close to dropping out last year. The school was pushing my mom to get the papers to sign. I could see the disappointment by the way she acted for a few days. I fell for the guilt trip and figured I'd make these last two years. I passed all the classes that year and last semester...this semester looks good also.

School is not really that hard just do the work while you're there and forget the homework/minor projects and then come back and pick the grade back up with tests. Draw and write every chance you get too, heh. I always have some drawing under my other work.
