Should i Fight This guy? (Long read)

All i am looking for Options on should i go right ahead and knock this kid out (Named Nate btw),

Okay ill start with the story/Evidence against him.

It was a normal Friday(Last weekend 4/29) i decided that i would go over to a close friend of mine Name Steven that i haven't seen in a while. and well shortly after i got to his house Steven and I decided that we would go out looking for yet another College party like we do almost every Friday when i go to his house. after talking about what we where gonna bring to the party another friend called saying he was coming over,(Now i must say i have only be around him maybe 4 or 7 times, so i don't know much about him and this kid's name is Nate(Yes the one i am deciding if i should kick his ass)) Anyway not even 20 Min's go by and he shows up right when Steven And I, where just leaving the house to go pick up a ounce for the party. So we hang out smoke a couple of joints and sooner then you know it, it's 11:30PM and time to find a party. well once we walk around we pick up a 24 pack of some nasty cheap beer, just to get a prebuz before the party. well once we got to the party we chilled and hang out and where having a good time(talk, smoke (you know the usually)). well yet again sooner then you know it was time to go home around 4AM(Remember this) well when we where at the party we left with Me, Steven, and another kid named Sam who was drunk and falling every where. and Nate stayed back for about a good 30min's, becase he wanted to score some "E"(remember this). well when i got back to Steven's House, i wasn't buzzed enough to where i couldn't tell what was going on, well anyway once we got back to the house Steven and Sam where passing out right after we step inside and passed out up stairs in a room. Not even a train wreak was gonna wake them up. but anyway once i got settled in i got up and put my "$70 MP3 Player" on top of the Refrigerator and then went to the couch Togo to sleep, well before i went to sleep Nate came in mest up and decided to Sniff his "E" pill he got at the party, and passed out on the other couch beside me.

Ill say about 2 hours go by , Nate decides to wakes up becase the Ecstasy pill and is walking around wakening everyone up like 20 times, (And this is about 6 or 7 AM) well no one got up so he decided to take a shower while being high to wash the drinking smell off him. well not even 30mins go by he gets out, and decided to makes egg's for everyone in the kitchen where the refrigerator is.

Well once i wake up start to gather my things and sit back and smoke a small joint of what was left from the bag i got. while i was smoking Steven's Mom gets up and starts yell (Like usually(Nothing new there :rolleyes: )) saying how we left the door open when we left and here friend came in the told here that it was open , and she was saying around 2Am here friend came by to tell here that the door was open and just wounded to make sure she was okay (A caring friend :) )

Shortly after this is all been said, everyone who was asleep wakes up and comes down stairs and once the clock hit around 2PM, we decided that we would part and go home, well to shorten this up i could not find my MP3 player that i differently remember setting on top of the refrigerator.
Well i was looking and surely Nate said that maybe it was the guy who came in around 2AM while we where at the party drinking and smoking took it. well i wasn't thinking at the time and just some what agree with him slightly, becase i was looking everywhere in the whole house. well ends up i don't have the MP3 player and now that i look back i am thinking it's more then sure that he has it and am debating if i should just go up beat his ass for lying to me and stealing from me. or should i just confront him and hope to the best he well remit that he has it and give it back..... (More then likely this kid isn't gonna say right away he gots it, because that would make him look bad)

use scare tactics, if you beat em up, wont change fit.. first try to scare it out of him by saying some bullshit like you having them do investigating people at the party, or there was a video cam somewhere catching him do it, main thing is for him to admit it, if not beat his ass and take something from him.

but when he said that the mysterious person musta taken it, how did he say it?
was he nervous and kinda shouted it out quickly or was it a normal speaking voice.
If you haven't asked him about it, do so right away.
first be like "yo are you SURE you don't know about my mp3 player?"
give him one last chance to confess.
then go ahead and beat his ass man if he doesnt confess.
but make sure you looked everywhere, i mean everywhere.
and that you didn't misplace it and its not on the couch or behind the fridge if it fell off.

Nate has to go through life being Nate. That sounds like punishment to me.
I hope that this dude that got ripped off realises that he is bigger than Nate will ever be. Nate will get his in many ways. I wouldnt allow this Nate guy to take up one more second of my life.

Not Really, maybe where i fight him at well cause problems, i have had problems with people that i hang out with, with this whole stealing shit, but by the end of the day after searching all day they would give it back, but this kid is just different...

You don't have to fight him to get your mp3 player back, fighting will just escalate the problem. We aren't cavemen anymore, we can settle things peacefully. Just go up to him and be like "hey, have you seen my mp3 player? I left it on the fridge." if he says no (which he probably will) just say "damn, well I was going to report it to the police as stolen, are you sure you haven't seen it? You could get suspended for stealing yknow?" It could be utter BS, just tell him subtly that you know he took it, and he will most likely give it up.

So I have an MP3 player too. I go to a shitty ghetto alternative school and I swear I put it on the desk before I went to the bathroom. I'm looking everywhere before class ends tryin' to find it..swearin' this girl stole it from me because at the time, it just made sense.

His being on probation should be a red flag. Be a bigger person and walk away. Only fight when there is no alternative.
You punch Nate and you just might be sharing his P.O. with him, and you dont want that.
As for him stealing from you? call the cops, they arrest him and contact his PO. You really dont need to prove anything to be a man. Being a man is much much more than fighting those who have wronged you.

Ok, here is the way I see it. You think nate took your MP3 player, but you don't know 100% if he is the person who really took it.My advice is, if you dont have proof then you might want to hold off on kicking this kid's ass. Now, I know you don't want to look like a punk or anything, and you don't want to just let whoever took your shit get off hook so easily. But, if you kick this kid's ass, and then find out in the future that it was somebody else who took it, you are going to look real shady for stomping a mud hole in some guy's face who did not even take it in the first place. So just confront him him about it first,look him in the eye, and be firm about asking. Don't be too agressive, and the reason why I say this is because if you approach with an attitude that is too agressive, you might start a fight before you can even figure out the truth. And if he is real afraid of you because he thinks you will whip his ass, then he may lie in order to avoid an ass beating, so either way, an agressive approach will only make matters worse. And besides, beating him up might make you feel better, but it still wont replace the MP3 player. So just ask him in a firm manner as to if he knows anything about your missing MP3 player. If you look in his eyes you will know if he is telling the truth. The first thing someone does when they are lying is say "what" as if they did not hear you. Or some other type of question or phrase to buy time to think of a good answer. Example......."hey homie, I had an MP3 player on the fridge the other night, and now its gone, do you know what happened to it??....."An MP3 player??"...." yeah an MP3 player"....."umm nope I have not seen it"........If the convo goes like that, then he is lying, cause he did ask a question and he was not all to helpful either and most people are or atleast try to be somewhat helpful......here is another example....."Hey homie, I had an MP3 player on the fridge the other night and now its gone, you know what happened to it??"........"an MP3 player?" ..."yeah an MP3 player"......."Nope man I have not seen it"....."are you sure you left it on the fridge?"....."yeah ,I'm sure"....."what color was it?"......"it was blue"....."hmmm... "not that I know of, why don't you ask steven's mom if she seen it"...."aight man thanks".......Now, you see how the person asked more detail, took an interest and even made suggestion? That is a little bit more sincere. My point is, you can usually tell when someone is lying, but even then you still don't know the truth 100%. So to give my final answer.....don't kick his ass, because as I said before, it wont bring back the MP3 player and you run the risk of fighting the wrong guy if you dont know for sure. Take it as a lost, and move on. There are more things in life worth fighting for, than over some bullshit like 'you think this certain person took a less than $100 MP3 player'. If you went around fighting everyone because you think they stabbed you in the back, you will be fighting alot of people in life, and eventually you will run the risk of either getting a real good ass beating or worse...getting shot...remember, some people carry guns, and those people don't fight they shoot... I am not trying to talk shit to you, I am trying to give you the best advice possible......take better care and keep better watch over your shit in the future my friend. Oh and another thing, don't leave your shit sitting around a house where people you don't know all that well walk around. I don't care if steven has an uncle living with him, if you don't know the uncle all that well, then you best to keep a close eye on anything that belongs to you:cool:
