Can't someone...Anyone...Ease my mind or Tell me I've got something to worry about?

Would someone please give me some info on this? I am a basket case here! :confused: I took a Pre-employment drug test at Quest Diagnostics on Apr. 26. The last time I smoked was on Apr. 2. I decided to quit at that time because I realized the only good jobs did drug testing and I wanted to be prepared because I was applying at quite a few places and didn't want to have to deal with "trying" to pass with all of the products out there. I wanted to pass when the time came simply by quitting and not having to worry about it. Then I get called for this really great job that I want and didn't know if I would be clean within the amount of time that I quit and the date of the test. (I hear it takes like 3 months to be naturally clean, but I don't know). I thought I should try and do something to make sure I would pass, but the only thing I did was to try and take Niacin, B-12, Aspirin, and some kind of cleansing pills from GNC in a blue bottle every day for about a week up until the date of the test. Still not knowing for sure if I would pass. When I took the test, no one told me that they would call and give me the results nor did they say they would call if I failed. Here it is May 1st and I have heard nothing! Wouldn't they have the results by now? Do they call if you fail? If you do fail, do they ever let you retake? Do you think I will pass if I haven't smoked since Apr. 2nd? It said on the form, Drug Test to be Performed: 6405N SAP 5-50 GC/MS. I have no idea what that means. I did go to a facility and paid for a rapid drug screen test voluntarily the day before the test at Quest, and the screening results were negative and it said the temp was 91.4, but I'm thinking the Quest testing is probably a lot different than a rapid drug screen?? I don't know. This is all new to me. I just really hope and pray that I didn't screw this up.! :(

There is every chance that if you passed the screen you also passed the test as they test at the same levels from what I understand. You are far more likely to hear if you fail than if you pass.
The 5/50 means test is for 5 drugs at the 50ng level. GC is Gas Chromatogaphy. That will make sure you aren't adulterating your sample - if you didn't try to mess with the test you should be OK.
If you want to find out - call the company you were applying to and ask them when you can start. If there are any problems they should tell you then...if not then you can agree a start date. NEVER ask about the test, just ask when you can start....act like there was never any doubt about the test. If you fail, throw a hissy fit and ask for a retest and swear blind you are clean. These things can go wrong (although GC tests are very accurate). If they failed you, you have nothing to lose by trying for a retest...the worst that can happen is they say no and you don't get the job which you weren't going to get anyway having failed the test.

Well, I had the start date before the test. Just wasn't sure how things happened after the test. I've read on posts here that no news is good news, but it can really drive a person crazy wondering....... Thanks for responding and I hope all is well. I'm afraid to call because I don't want to seem worried or pushy since I have a start date. Maybe I'll just wait it out and see what happens. Does Quest usually call if a person doesn't pass or they just tell the employer that the person didn't pass I wonder? God, I hope and pray that I quit long enough to test negative......

Oh, I was also wondering if anyone knew what the 6405N stands for?
