System Run Down By Weed?

Hey guys and gals i know that weed can run you down if you smoke a shit load of it...... well i think it can im sure i read it somewhere.

well anyway ive been doing a lot more recently than i have been before and have been finding im getting colds constantly lol

just wondering if anyone else gets this or is it just me?

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the major active component of cannabis, or marijuana. Receptors to THC have been found on B cells, natural killer cells, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes and macrophages (Life Sci 1999; 65:637-644). Marijuana has measurable in vitro effects on the immune system, particularly in reducing cell-mediated immunity, which might increase susceptibility to infection. Clinical studies in humans so far, though, haven't demonstrated that these effects are clinically relevant (J Allergy Clin Immunol 1976;58:483-490). Chronic smoking of marijuana, however, can raise one's susceptibility to respiratory infection and cancer (Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev. 1999;8:1071-1078). If the marijuana is contaminated with mould spores, which is common, smoking it may lead to allergic asthma, infection or hypersensitivity pneumonitis (J Allergy Clin Immunol 1983;71:389-393)

i've been smoking like nearly 8 years now, and i hardly ever get sick, 2times a year at most, including common colds (which is usually what i'm sick from) so i think it's just you... if anything, i'd say weed has greatly boosted my immune system.... not to mention, i stay away from as much man-made medicine as possible... i'd rather tough out the sickness, and build my immune system, then be a pansy, get a cough and take medicine....

I had dieorea this morning, and i smoked a shit load of weed the night before. But it was proberly all the chilli i ate all day last night that did it. lol. I have also found that i can sometime's get alot of weird colds next day after toking, and if im really stoned when i go to sleep when i wake up in mornin my eyes are practicly GLUED shut haha.

Wen ive had a heavey night on the weed, and then smoking in bed , i wake with a bad head ache...but a glass of water and a big fry up always sorts me out!

I dunno about my clarestorol level tho :D

yeh man its not like a cold cold it just lasts like a day maybe 2 and its just groggy flem shit at the back of my nose and throat!

like that guy said though i should probably stop being such a pussy and try to build my immune system! :P

oh well that's diffrent, you might as well get used to that now.... if you smoke alot, you're going to get really congested with phlem and shit.... and if you smoke enough and long enough, eventually the phlem starts coming up blackened (looks really disgusting) the only thing i've noticed that gets rid of it is taking breaks from weed, or spacing it out more. i'm sure if you used a vape/cooked the weed it'd eliminate this problem as well.... otherwise you're just stuck with it.... like me..

but i do get a cold symptomns sometimes(like now) the day after smoking or whatever

Well i havnt been ill at all for the last 3 years, only once, and that was a cold, and it went within one day...

I think its just you, it aint the weed ;)

I think its also because when im smoking im usually awake the whole night then have like 2 hours sleep and its usually that stoned sleep where your mind is going insane and you still think your awake but your sleeping.

People who smoke cigarettes are more prone to colds & flu, insomnia and asthma, same goes for weed.

Try regular exercise and you'll be able to toke up without the sniffles.

hey kaneda7777. I've got the very same problem. I think i have narrowed it down abit cause my nose usually runs shortly after grinding my weed and i think it has something to do with all the thc crystals floating about. My nose starts to run with loads of thick snot for about an hour, but sometimes it doesn't stop and eventually the thick snot turns runny, like water, and there's no stopping it. I have to plug my nose with toilet paper or just let it drip out, the watery stuff runs out for about a day.

Do you know of anything that helps or stops it cause its getting really annoying and its very embarrassing when I have to go places and sniff it back up all the time.
