Helo friends and again im in trouble!

all has gone so well and after taking all your advice my room is swelling up and the buds lookin so good BUT now ive run into this leaf thing. ive been thru Cervantes and the closest i get is a "salt inbalance" soooo ive tried to flush as instructed (plain water PH adjusted leaching several times then allowing the water - which picked up like 250 PPM- to run like 4-6 hrs) but i wake up this AM and things have changed very little and NOW im really worried.

If any of you in the know can please help me i would be forever greatful. the grow is in wk 4 of flower. im using Dutch Masters complete line including thier folair products. constant drip PH is always at 5.8 and 1000-1200 PPM (not including the 210 for water hardness)

HI ziggy.. once yourr leaves look like that they don't recover (the plant can/will recover but the damage to the leaves is permenant)... so without new growth it can often be hard to tell if you fixed the problem..

You should probably have flushed for at least 24 hours..

It is a problem that your water is 200+ ppm straightout of the tap.. To tell you the truth, I am suprised you made it this far..

If you were growing Aeroponicaly you probably would not have made it this far...
Have you considered raising the PH to 6.5 for a few days...

if you can show us the entire plant..

I think you are going to be ok..

Hello my friend and thank you for reponding!

remember that web site you refered me to re plant probs http://www.marijuana-seeds.net/Thanks-ThankYou.htm?
well taking a tip from them i did add epsom salt at 15 mils per 15 gallons to help the hardness. i boiled water 1st then added the salt poured that into my tank and raised the PH to 6 from 5.8

im still getting lotsa new growth as the DM seems to have my ladies on steroids and developing new flower sites everyday

the pics i posted are not typical they are the worst. not all are effected and the places where the problem is are few

as far as the water hardness is concerned ve already ordered a RO unit and will install it for the next round......it appears my diagnosis was correct then maybe with the steps ive taken i will get past this too im only 4 weeks from harvest maybe if i start using clean H2O now it wont be so bad

it just kinda bums me out i came so far and I DO remember the last time you told me about the hard water thins is that after i treated with epsome salt and flushed last time is seemed to cure my problem....so dumb huh

a word to the neophyte ......OBEY THE GODS AS THEY TRULEY ARE ALL KNOWING!!!

When things like this happen, and your sure it's not a heat problem, you need to flush, flush, flush, and then flush some more. Then start over with 1/4 strength nutes or just PH adjusted water if in dirt. They may survive they may not.

good luck

if your using tap water, stop! anybody that is trying to grow hydro, or is growing hydro, should be using a ro filter for their water. you can pick one up off ebay that will treat fifty to sixty gallons a day for about seventy dollars shipped. you can almost solve any problems that you will have with your water supply by using a ro system. you can't imagine how much an ro system will improve your grow and your success until you try one!

what is a RO system and can't someone see what the pH level of th tap water is 1st i mean for example, QUEENS, NY tap water is one of the best in the east coast, thats where you get dasani bottled water from, what if someone has a good ranged pH tap water...do yiou still need to filter it?

Hello, is this the right room for an argurment?

I'm not saying an RO system can't benefit a grow. I am saying that I use plain old PH adjusted well water, along with some nutes and superthrive, and have amazing results compared to my foolish young days when I tried growing in dirt. City water may be another story, I don't know. I know it may have to have at least some of the chlorine removed or nuetralized.

Who knows maybe when I'm rolling in dough I will conduct an experiment to see how much, if any it can increase my yield. Kinda like may desire to try co2, which I think would be a much more worthwhile endevour, at least for me.

1) KISS - Keep It Simple Stoner
2) If it aint broke don't fix it
3) Speed is just a question of money. How fast do you want to go? (Kinda like yield)

ok the deal is this.....PH is important and SO TOO is the TDS in water (PPM) its THESE minerals (solids) are kinda used asa BASE from which to START from meaning when you use food grade nuets that require the PPM to go to say 1000-1200. IF your tap water is already at 210-240 PPM what you is ADD to that # to get to 1000-1200.

im MY case im using an entire line of nutes that also include "tank additives" for root conditioning - cell wall stregnthening & flower mass development (silicon) - and potash. these #'s add only slightly to the over PPM req of 1000-1200. its the FOOD itself that adds extra minerals that are SALT based and once you get to the point of MAXIMUM SATURATION (prior to nuet burn) your growing medium BEGINS RETAINING SALT. this activity LOCKS out the calcium (Ca) and magneseum (Mg) needed tor good veg and flower development.

as far as RO is concerned the reson is works so well is that ALL YOUR HUNIES ARE GETTING IS THE FOOD GRADE (exceptionally clean) NUETS (minerals and salts). so not only are you missing all those nasty chloromides and unneeded trace metals but all that EXTRA salt that lockups and brings your progress to a screaching halt.........so what do you do?

ok RO unit - like $200 at the hydro store (or $80-100 on line and to tell you the truth the online option is a far better deal with not only a better membrane filter most of the time includes an ionization step as well) OR theres the chemical option for like $24.....LOL!

yes i know its more work but to me its a labor of love..... CLEAREX

this product can be both used once your garden takes a dive and as a PREVENTITIVE measure....easy to use and highly effective. working on a chemical level to - not just rinse out salt but to unbond it from your growing media.

MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR INPUT
