Do you put the roach in before or after rolling.

Thats when you roll with the sticky stuff on the out side isn't it? I haven't tried it but I doubt it, it took me ages to learn to rolll normally as it was!

I usually roll backwards (sticky on the outside) so that after youve rolled and licked it, you can tear the excess paper off. I roll with the roach in aswell, at the left of the spliff. Just the way Ive always done it.

I hadn't thought about which end you put the roach in. Although I always put my roach in afterwards it is always the left hand side where it goes as they are always cones.

Same here, when I started skining up my Js were woeful, then when I switched to putting the roach in first they got so much better soooo fast. In Scotland almost everyone puts the roach in after and it's not nearly as good. (Damn Scots!)

WTF is everybody talking about? A roach is the last little bit of the joint that's left over after you've smoked it. How the hell do you put it in the joint, especially before rolling it. Am I missing something here??

"roach" can also refer to a little rolled up piece of cardboard in the mouth end of the doob used to keep it open and prevent weed from being sucked through. That's what you're missing.

Yeah in the UK they usually put a small paper filter in it. I do this too (even though I'm from Minnesota) sometimes because then you don't have to hold on to that tiny little roach. It's like a regular cigarette. The filter not only keeps tobacco from coming into your mouth, but it takes your fingers away from the heat.

I sometimes get bits of baccy and herb go in my mouth when I take a hit. Theres an easy way to solve this - get a piece of card thats about 1cm long, and roughly the same width as the roach. Then fold it together so you have something that looks like this terrible drawing -

Squish it together and shove it up the roach so it looks like a couple of 'M's together, and that stops any bits from going in your mouth.

I dont even bother, not to brag, but my joints are pretty fuckin good as it is, and ive noticed when rollin with a roach they burn faster, and thats never as much fun.

Finding roaches is a pain! The first 5 or so joints are fine just use the rizzla packet. But then I start using taxi cards, magazine covers, weetabix boxes etc!

Rolling backwards looks really easy and it is simply done so you are not smoking loads of paper.It was my mates b.day yesterday and he wanted to use his card for roach but I didn't let him because it was a status quo one that played one of their songs when opened but I bet he did when he got home.

I have the joint rolling handbook and some of the ones in there look impossible to do.Anyone make tulips,crossroads or a windmill?

I just cut up some card at home, folder dividers make good roach also. I have to roll with the roach in the rizla at the time of lickin 'n' stickin or it don't work for me...

I have seen the tulip made several times by my friend I cant do them myself,practice makes perfect they say so I might buy a load of rizlas and have a special smoke weekend :stoned:

OK! Rolling with the filter already in place is not the best way to smoke joints. I have a couple of mates that roll with the filter already in and it's NEVER ever ever ever as smooth as rolling a joint and then putting the filter in afterwards.
The reason being: When you place the filter in at the end it compacts the weed at the bottom towards the centre creating a completely compact joint that is smooth up until the end.
When you roll with the filter already in place the bottom of the joint is absolutely shit and terribly harsh there fore wasting a larger amount of bud (assuming you don't collect the roaches).
thats just cuz your friends suck at rolling... if you know how to roll well, having the roach in to begin with shouldn't make a difference

I put my roach in on the left side (west side, lol) and can roll both "backwards" (I think we call it "inside-oud" here) and normal. Whatever you want, actually.

Tulips are really surprisingly easy to make. Just make a baggy with some rolling paper, fill it up with weed (mix), roll a tube from a cardboard thingy and put it in the bag, tie it, smoke it. A tulip never let me down.

i like putting roaches in before i role becuase it just seems to make the connection between the roach weed an paper sturdier. when i first started to smoke my roaches would sometimes fall out or break off an shit, but now i get compact slow burning good ass js. i used to roach my blunts but then i weened myself off of it.
