What programs are you using? Keep in mind commercial burning programs like roxio and nero are shit. Useless bloatware from corporate assholes.

Burning cds is a pretty straightforward process if you have the right software.

http://www.doom9.org/ is a definitive resource for burning DVDs. It has tutorials, FAQs, and much more.

burning dvds r a bitch! No it isn't. Way to discourage her...

It's seems overwhleming and complicated at first, but after you learn the basics, it's cakewalk. Unless you have a dual-layer burner (which I doubt anyone here has, because the technology is still brand new), it's basically a matter of learning how to take out extras, so the movies will fit onto the conventional DVD-+Rs. That's the only hard part. The actual process of burning DVDs is just as simple as burning music.

well wot program u use smart ass?

I use nero 6 and after coverting the file from a avi...the dvd will play for about 20 mins then it will just skip though the rest of the movie.

And oh yeh i wasnt trying to discourage her.

If you are trying to copy Dvd's then you will need a peice of freeware called Dvd shrink, this will ripp the Dvd to your computer organise the file,s and then use your burning software to write them to disc. (this is also good if you only have one burning rom). Really easy to use & each Dvd takes about 90 mins to copy www.doom9.org I think is where I got mine.

There's no need for name calling...
If I was out of line, I'm hoping we could settle it like grown men, but I guess you are beneath that.

Anyway, I use DVD shrink and DVD decrypter for editing and backing up, and then I use Recordnow 4.5 for all my burning. Any newer version of Recordnow is shit. Taken over by a bloatware producer. I guess Nero really isn't that bad.. It just seemed to cause too many errors and problems for me. Could work better on someone else's PC.

Doe's Dvd shrink have the dycrypter with it when you get it? If not then (in ref to my last post) you do need that too.. (also freeware) :)

You can pretty much do anything you want with shrink. However, decrypter lets you do a little bit more, if necessary. Decrypter is also a bit more informative of what's going on behind the program. Both work just fine on their own, but I like to have variety.

And dog, I apologize. I'm usually not nearly such a bastard, but this past week has been utter hell for me, and I guess it spilled onto the boards. I know that's no excuse to act the way I am, but I hope we can put this mess behind us.. I'm sorry.
