My last bike was a yamaha and i really liked it. I like Honda because of how reliable they are. a couple buddies of mine have them and have gone to 30,000 miles with no problems whatsoever.

links just take u to the front page. seeing some mangled bodies isnt gonna curb my enthusiasm for motorcycles.
u can have my baseball card collection if u want rainbow
Its nice, my cuz had a Honda Fireblade 1100... Then for some reason he took it apart, dont ask why lmao, anyway, in the end he payed me to put it all back together cos im an engineer and got about £200 quid from it so i bought 2 ounces :)
rhino44
04-26-2006, 10:27 PM
sweet yeah i think a fireblad is the same as a CBR they just dont use those names in the US except for Kawasaki Ninja. idk why. my cousin is the same way he's an electrical engineer and has dyslexia.
anyway his brain works backwards and he an take apart anything and put it back together. cant write an essay or read very well but he can take apart a huge motor and fix anything on it and put it back together without any instruction.

Is that gonna be your first bike? Cuz if so, a liter-bike is no foolin' man. Get yourself an '06 GSXR600. Look around and see what people say about liter-bikes and new riders if you don't wanna take my word for it. Just lookin' out.

yea this will be my first streetbike. i had a yz 426f yamaha dirtbike wich is almost as fast cuz its 2 stroke but yeah ive never riden a bike exactly like this. ive riden a 900 wich was really fast.
ive ridden a 600 alot and not had any problems as far as controling it. im 6'2 210 lbs and i workout alot(dont know if thats what you were leaning towards)so i think i can handle it. good lookin out though i appreciate your input.

Owned a lot of bikes from little rough riding 50s to big tourers, I'm trying to decide wether to act my age and get a Yamaha Fazer or get what my heart wants and maybe kill myself on a V Max
I have had no bad bikes from Honda and consider them some of the best bikes around, the reliability is legendary.

Silly fool. :)
A really nice bike, but I must suggest you taking some lessons on one of those bikes. You first jump on that thing, and the first thing you'll do is pull on that throttle, and you'll go right over backwards. Riding one of those is no joke and should be driven with the upmost care and respect. You'll kill yourself in 3.1 seconds if you don't know what you're doing.
Just a suggestion, a nice bike, but learn before you ride. Those bikes are nothing like reg. street bikes. Those things are suicide machines. Good luck.

Nice bike. Just keep the tires kept and the brakes and shit in order and you'll be ok. I've allways wanted a street bike, but I don't trust other drivers enough to hit the road with one.

you guys have hit on some really good points.
Physcocat- your still young at heart and you seem to have alot of riding experience. get the fast one!!!
Nowchowderforyou- yeah i hear ya but i dont want to get a 600 just to wish i had gotten the 1000 3 months later. though if im dead in 3 days on the 1000 i guess that would be something to think about.
Benagain- i feel your pain. i have the same worries. im afraid some mom in a suburban is gonna be yacking on a cellphone and not see me. all these idiots on cellphones it is ridiculous. sometimes im behind somebody i think must be an elderly person because of how they are driving...nope just another person on a cellphone.

Nice bike!
Have fun and play it safe!!!
I had a close call with someone on there bike on the freeway a while back, I was moveing over to the far right lane to get off at the next exit and the dude on the bike must have been hauling ass in that lane cuz I did not notice him till I was half way over and jerked back to avoid knocking him off his bike.

It's a beautiful bike. And I apologize here for sounding like a mother hen, but please please please wear a helmet. I am a bit of a mother hen. But I was also a paramedic for nine years. Those yakking moms in Suburbans are out there. And a wide variety of idiots all over. In the world of hospitals and fire departments, we call them "donorcycles" when folks aren't wearing head protection. Be safe and have fun!

Are these bikes heavy to pick up?I mean when they are on their side not pick up totally unless you are into that.
rhino44
04-27-2006, 11:51 AM
thanks for the kind words everyone. i think they weigh close to 500 pounds so you deffinately dont want to get pinned underneath one and they must be kinda hard to pickup once they are down.

If you're going to TN to ge the bike, then try riding over to the TN/NC state line and riding the dragon to deals gap. I used to deliver around there and I would see bikers every day comming out of the tail. 318 curves in 11 miles. fun stuff.

Howdy rhino44,
Well..that's a pretty spiffy bike all right..but..it's a rice-burner..how about an American made bike ? Here's a link for the Victory bikes,they are the "new American motorcycle" : http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/Victory/ . Or..how about a Harley ?
Have a good one !

Hey Torog,
The problem is I have an isatiable appetite for speed and raw power. It may be the end of me, I hope not but that's just the way I am right now. If an American company built the bike I want you bet I would buy it over a rice patty. Too bad they don't but you got to hand it to the Japanese and the Germans for producing very fine reliable automotives. If Detroit could take a note from them they would be far better off IMO.
Take it easy

The way i see it, American bikes = long distance cruising and comfort. Japanese = short and zippy and a pain to ride distance. I allways wanted a crotch rocket for the speed and shit, but if I ever got one it would prolly be a harley or similar. They're just made for driving for days on end. Plus, there's really no need to go 0-60 in a blink of an eye. That is unless you live in the matrix or something. Both really good bikes, but really different.

Howdy rhino44,
Well..alright then..I do think that you should see about gitting some training in riding that particular bike ya want..if ya did, you'd git to put the bike through it's paces and it would be on a race-track,so you'd git to go as fast as ya want-but safely. This way,if ya decide to out-run some cops on it,you'd have a clear advantage over them..Yeeehhhaaawww !!! :D
Have a good one ! :stoned:

benagian- very good points. this wont be a daily driver just for kicks on the weekend and such.
Torog- HaHa great way to look at it. Yes, I will deffinately need some classes to be competent on this machine or one similar. the cops won't stand a chance lol. thanks for your support and Godspeed

thats an interesting link benagain. very sad aswell. I tend to agree with you on the comfort of rice rockets. the stature of a harley is much more appealing to me for any long distance trip. I dont inttend on making too many of those but I think I will deffinately take your advice on the trip through the mountains. the Great Smokey Mountains are so beautiful just like the rest of the Blue Ridge.

I have heard of guys who have had accidents and then had a bike made up so they can still ride,my mate told me of her one armed biker friend who I would love to meet just to see him ride.
I think this is a brilliant idea.

That's very interesting. It is very fitting for someone who loves to ride motorcycles to have a hearse like that. Over here we have a TV show called Orange County Choppers. It's about a father-son team in Orange County New York that builds expensive custom made choppers style bikes.
Anyway they had a segment were they built a bike for a man for free who had been paralyzed from the waist down. They managed to create a bike that had all the controls necesarry to operate it within arms reach. So basically he could kinda pull himself up onto it and he was good to go. I think that sounds like what your friends friend has except his/hers is custom fit for their particular disability.
