So I was dirtjumping on my bike and the place where I was at has glass chunks in the dirt from stupid kids breaking bottles. I bailed and my arm got all cut up, I thought it was just a normal cut so I kept biking for another hour or so. I get home have a shower wash my cuts and stuff and low and behold there a chunk of glass in my arm. I tried getting it out with tweasers but the end broke off so now theres like a centemetre and a half long piece of glass in my arm I cant get out. I dont know what the hell to do to get it out and it hurts pretty bad.do you guys think I should just let it sit there till it dissolves or somethin or should I walk to the hospital, my god damn mom wont even help me out so I've come too you guys.

Try and dig it out
ALL of it
get lots of peroxide on it
If not you will have to go see a proffessional.
If you dont go, it will eventually come to the surface of the skin
but it may be quite a few days and you have a chance at infection

dude, my mom is the same fucking way, i was making a bong, and i was using a regular pocket knife and i stuck my knife in it and started to push down on it, and the knife buckeld and and cut my index finger right on the nuckel so deeply that u could see my fucking bone, and so i went down stairs and i was like mom, i think i need stiched, so she sent me to my grandmas for a band aid, i was like screew this, i walked down to my adopted aunts and uncles and they were dumping poroxide and taping it up, and i ended up all of a sudden fealing like i was drunk, and i said to my aunt, jane, did u give me any alcohal, she said no why, i said, cause i feal hella fucking drunk and she slaped me for sayin fuck, but they band ainded it up and called up the local doctors house, and got his ass out of bed at like 12:00 am and drove to the clinc to sew me up

Get a knife a remove it. Leaving it in will only lead to infection.

well it's common knowledge to get it out of there ASAP. Not doing so leads to nasty infections...
If you can't get it out and it still hurts or is getting more painful, either hit up the hospital tonight or first thing in the morning.
Screw going to school.

its too deep to get out myself and I dont really know what to do at the hospital or anything so im just gonna wait till I have to go to school in the afternoon tommorow and they'll probably help me out

well you go to the ER and go up to the front desk and explain your situation. And a parent won't go with you? It's not that hard, and if it's too deep to get our yourself, you need to get attention, like, ASAP. Waiting only gives you better odds of an infection.
But it's whatever. That's what I'd do. Plus, how the hell do you plan on sleeping with that shard of glass in your arm?

its only sore when I move and bend my arm, I was biking for like an hour after it got stuck so I think thats why its in so deep. Im so used to pain it wont really make a difference when I try to sleep. Im just gonna wait a bit and see if it comes closer to the suface and if it looks like its getting any worse or if it discolors or whatever then i'll go to the hospital........anybody know what I should be looking for when I check for an infection?????just like dark colors and irritated skin or will it be harder to spot????

well it'll usually start to become pretty sensitive around the injured area, and yah some slight swelling and/or redness. If an area around the wound is red, I would seriously go to the ER NOW. No need to risk it.
And hopefully one of your parents would accompany you to the hospital. No reason they wouldn't.

it was like 7:30 when I came home she was out of bed but w/e I dont want to get into it right now cause I'll end up typing out like 1000nd words lol. So its not really hurting at all and I was just wondering what you guys think would happen if I just left it in there??? would it like dissolve or something cause I had a rock in my knee when I was like 8 and that like dissolved or something.

at least be smart enough to wrap it in gauze and apply a bit of disinfectant to it if your gonna leave it in there.

Dirt jumpin is pretty fun, love the big kickers.
Shoulda taken this opportunity to learn how to manage your wounds and properly clean/dress them. You coulda done what they did on your own, if i went to the hospital everytime I did something similar to that id practically live there.
anyways, glad to hear you dont have a shard in you anymore haha

Thank You for letting us know you went to the clinic and your okay...its okay to learn about wounds ..but try and get your Dr. or Nurse to properly explain antiseptic and treating infection..learn from the professionals that studied years to acquire the knowledge they have...I know for some its not always possible or feasible to go to a Dr. but you did the right thing going when you did..happy your okay.:)

good thing you had it taken out... glass is one of the few things the body won't reject..

I had the same thing happen to me, though I wasn't riding a bike, and it was pencil lead. I got stabbed by it and the entire tip broke off in my leg. It was (is) about half an inch of graphite. Anyway, because I couldn't get it out, it eventually healed over. It's still there to this day, it looks kind of like a freckle though. To make a long story short, yes, get it removed. This is your only chance to get it safely removed.
EDIT: Curse my slow typing!
