im sure that smoking lowers your reactions and response time, and doesnt help your hand/eye coordination.. i dont think driving while high is any better than drink driving, but i may be wrong :)

Speaking of granny, that's what I drive like if I am really high. Otherwise, I'm just a little slower and more cautious than normal.

On that note, I have never heard of anyone.. anyone getting into an accident cuz they were high. These damn anti-pot commercials need to stop lying. Don't you other US citizens love your government? I've driven stoned and the reason I don't anymore is because if I ever do get into an accident while stoned it will look like marijuana was the reason why even if it wasn't. Another words, if some jack ass stops short in front of me and I rear end him then the cop will automatically assume I'm to blame because I was stoned even if it wasn't my fault. I don't want to perpetuate any more bad ideas about weed, there's enough out there already.

And if I ever wrecked my car while stoned, my husband would divorce me. (Not that that would be bad but I would not get custody of my kids after something like that.)

I enjoy performance driving way too much to ruin it by being high. Driving high can be fun, like if you are just cruising, but I can drive much much better sober. I can concentrate and keep my mind clear of all the haze and crap that fills it when I am high. There is too much going on in your head when you are high to make you a fully-safe driver and if something does happen, even though it is not your fault you could be blamed. For me it is not worth the risk and I enjoy driving sober a lot more. :)

I used to smoke bongs while I drove to work...and on lunch...and on my way home.

being stoned wasn't hazardous, IMHO, but fumbling with a butane lighter (the kind that stays lit even if you drop it...like a welding torch) and a bong is definitely dangerous. so I usually pulled into a timmy's parking lot to burn, then continued on my merry way...I found it was easier to smoke a bong than a pipe or J tho. it only takes a second to light, then you can toke with one hand and steer with the other...

I've been a stoner for a few years now though, so I'm used to feeling high, and I know what to expect. I also know I'm not comfortable driving after a few drinks, or on mushrooms (oh god, never ever try to drive on mushrooms). so I guess to each his own...

i completely agree. im too young ta drive legally, but that duznt mean i dunt got drivin experince, out in the country, an a few timez in the city. i can cruize around juss fine when im blazed..butwhen it comez to performance drivin like sawleaf said, i am worse blazed then sober. how do i kno this? well when ya juss decided u an yer friend wood take yer step momz 2002 corvette fer a lil test drive, yer gunna pound that pedal down. well at least i did. ive taken that car fer performance runz a couple timez blazed an a couple timez sober. i dunt even attemp any crazy shit when blazed juss in case i crash, but i do enuff ta tell that i cant drive az well when blazed. drivin high duznt compare 2 drivin drunk. yer way way way worse off drinkin.

i havent driven 'staight' for over 10 years im always stoned. i drive every day.
i will not drive after alcohol though, that stuff really does slow you down.

and ive only had one accident in a car and he drove into me..

;) To be honest with you its not often that I'm not stoned when i drive. I have been doing so for many years now and it is normal for me. I'm not saying that it is a good thing but with my medical illness smoking is the only form of release I get from the pain. To sit in a car is hard on my body so i smoke to get my muscles and nerves to relax. Over the weekend I drove over 600kms, with two mates following in their car. We stopped for a J bout every hour. :eek:

statisticly i am safer to drive after i smoke. I have only been in 2 accedents and both times i didn't smoke weed. I'm less likely to get road rage, and jump out of my car and strangle the idiots that drive arround here.

nope. i usually space out and miss my turn. you know what they say 'drunk drivers kill, stoned drivers miss thier exit'. i prefer not to drive under the influence of anything. im a very very careful driver, two of my family member have been killed/injured in car accidents so i try to play it safe. if i knoe i have to drive home, i give myself at least two hours to sober up. it works well. if not, i ask a friend.

You can drive after a smoke and you can drive after a drink but wether you should or not is a different thing.

Only you can tell wether you are a little baked or totally fried so you need to be honest with yourself because if you fuck up you are not alone.
