If you missed this on PBS check it out.
It is the before and after face images of people that have used meth for a short amount of time. There are about 12 face images and they take several seconds to load to the next frame.

does meth give you fucked up bumps on your face?
Why is that?

NM Cannabliss already asked
When people are "tweaking", or simply on speed, they have a tendency to pick at their faces. Their hands must always be doing something, and a lot of the time it's picking their face.
It's fucked up. Scares the shit out of me.

The skin sores go with the territory.
Also known as "crank bugs". It is a feeling of something beneath the skin that must be dug out. But they think that it is actually the high toxicity of the chemicals used to make the drug. Lithium batteries, phosphoric acid, starting fluid, anhydrous ammonia among just a few which leads to the condition of cachechia or "crank bugs" which is just chemical toxin overload.
Other drastic things happen like ovaries that dry and shrivel up. Teeth rot quickly due to the drying of silvia which then allow strep bacteria acids to attack the tooth enamle.
And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

how frightening.
my mom is a dental hygentist and once a week she does pro-bono dental care for homeless veterans. she always comes home sharing stories of 'meth mouth'; rotten and decaying teeth associated with meth use.

Does anyone know why they develop all those red dots on their faces? They look as if they have been in a street fight?
Most likely because when they are addicted to these shitty drugs they dont wash, or have a shower because they dont care about what they look like all they care about is the drug. So if they get skin rashes, infections, skin diseases etc... then they wouldn't care about getting rid of it.
Some pot heads can be like this aswell but they wouldnt look as bad obviously.

I dont belive that meth will make you look like that after only 3 months, which is what the second group of picture says. I have a friend of mine who did meth for 4 months and hes alright now...he never looked like any of thos people. Suffored from a good amount of mental problems tho.

I read somewhere that 6 months of meth use is equal to 30 YEARS of alcoholism. That shit doesn't sound fun at all, why would you even bother with it.

Wow, if 6 months of meth use is the equivalent of 30 years of alcoholism, then I've imbibed the equivalent of 90 years of alcohol.
I'm glad I quit that stuff. Six months clean and counting.
And I look nothing like those pictures. No wrinkles on my face or crank sores (which is what they are called BTW). And I still have all of my teeth, although some of the enamel on my bottom teeth got corroded pretty badly.

I know a man who has been using meth for years & he breaks out like that from time to time, but not on his face hardly. He has places on his back more often & they look like he had a pimple that he picked at alot (so it would leave scars). He will go for days on end without sleeping & eating. His looks havent changed as much as the pics on the above site, but he has slimmed down quite a bit. He has stated that he uses it because he likes to be on the move (always doing something) .
As for me I think I will stick to what grows natural...

Yeh I'm with coca-cola, what the fuck are you people buying in to?
Yes there's a universal cause for everything, and 99 problems out of 100, its drug related. Gosh darn those dirty meth-heads, thats why they have rottin teeth, thats why they live on the streets.....THE METH! Not cuz they're lazy, stinking bastards, who scrounge off benefits and think only of themselves!!!!! NOOOOOOO....all humans are good, and have a basic need to work toward the brotherhood, and drugs is what warps there mind.
Its like grotesquely obese people, I like food man, and I bet a lot of other potheads on this site enjoy the sweet/greasy munchies every now and again. Well, if I started to get fat, I'd say to myself "Shit, I'm gettin a bit of a belly on me, maybe I should cut down" Then, I'd exercise and loose the fat. Motherfuckers do NOT wake up one day 300lbs overweight and bed ridden. Methheads, do NOT just wake up one day, in a box, on the street, stealing from babies, with no teeth. Its a slow, dwindling descent that they are totally responsible for, even in the case of 3 months, imagine, the past 3 months of ure life, now imagine it without sleep, thats a long fuckin time, and a lot of thinking you can do, thats right, YOU, meth is an inanimate drug, that YOU, have to go out and look for, buy, burn up and inhale, or snort, to get the effect of. If you do it, its not cuz ure addicted, and 'can't go on with the pain anymore!!!!' its cuz you have made the well-educated decision, of lighting up the meth pipe, and carrying on ure high. You've thought good and well about ure face, ure smell, the state of the apartment, we all do, becuz that seems to just go with the territory of being human nowadays, especially if uve grown up in suburban America, where the philosophy of 'Get a fucking job! Buy a better gadget', was born and bred, and uve made the decision 'Fuck it! I feel better doing this, than bothering with all that shit that goes with functioning in society today'.
The fact that if feels like u have bugs underneath ure skin if you don't get a hit every now and again, would prompt most people to say, 'Maybe I should lay off for a while, since, I don't remember having bugs underneath my skin before, and they seem to chill when I hit the pipe, this seems to be forming a vicious cycle' just like the fat fuckers, won't put down the tub of ice cream, and go eat a ham and lettuce sandwich or something, they see themselves puttin on 20lbs every week, and they still scoff down ice cream tub after lard bar, and its only when there own legs have collapsed beneath them, that they turn around and say 'Help me! I'm a good person! I don't know whats got in to me the past couple of months! BUT Now! I'm gonna change, I've realised that it was controlling my life ' And every1 swoons, and sympathisizes, and then wonders why drug addicts and the like are putting a strain on everybody, errrr, probly cuz you keep fucking helping them. If you fed an animal, would you call the animal stupid for coming back to ure home, awaiting food? No, we have a tendency to push shit as far as it will go, if u don't punish bad behaviour, don't expect anybody to know what behaviour is acceptable, any of you would happily accept scraps if u were starving, a broke, homeless, person, would happily accept money, from anybody, cuz there is shit that is quite simply, much more important than the morale behind what you are doing, especially when it results in personal benefit. You want to help these people, leave em be, they'll eventually run out of money, at which time they'll die, or get better, the ones that get better, I doubt will ever want to let themselves get in to that situation again, and the ones that die, are dead, they made there own shit, and now they're lying in it, you reep what you sow etc etc..
Don't blame the drug, you can think whatever thoughts you want, but there is giant leap in the energy expended from thinkin hypothetically, and actually doing, which I don't think a drug has the power to do.

Dangit! You took my thunder. lol. Yeah, I've first-hand seen the shit meth can do to someone and it is not pretty. BTW, casual meth use doesn't exist. You either do a *ton* of it, or you don't.
Being a libertarian, I am kind of torn about how to treat meth. Maybe mandatory execution of junkies and meth cooks would be best. The junkies are killing themselves, anyway and the addiction recovery process literally takes years to reverse the damage done to the chemical makeup of the brain, which leads to a low successful treatment rate. I'm not serious, btw. Well, not that serious.

Why do people start using methamphetamine?
A: Athletes and students sometimes begin using meth because of the initial heightened physical and mental performance the drug produces. Blue collar and service workers may use the drug to work extra shifts, while young women often begin using meth to lose weight. Others use meth recreationally to stay energized at "rave" parties or other social activities. In addition, meth is less expensive and more accessible than cocaine and users often have the misconception that methamphetamine is not really a drug.
Q: What other long-term effects can result?
A: Fatal kidney and lung disorders, brain damage, liver damage, blood clots, chronic depression, hallucinations, violent and aggressive behavior, malnutrition, disturbed personality development, deficient immune system, and methamphetamine psychosis, a mental disorder that may be paranoid psychosis or may mimic schizophrenia.
Q: How does methamphetamine take over one's life?
A: Methamphetamine short-circuits a person's survival system by artificially stimulating the reward center, or pleasure areas in the brain. This leads to increased confidence in meth and less confidence in the normal rewards of life. This happens on a physical level at first, then it affects the user psychologically. The result is decreased interest in other aspects of life while reliance and interest in meth increases. In one study, laboratory animals pressed levers to release methamphetamine into their blood stream rather than eat, mate, or satisfy other natural drives. The animals died of starvation while giving themselves methamphetamine even though food was available.

Coca Cola this is the second time you went off on a meth posting I put up. Remember dude, "owned".
I never judged anyone. Just links to websites.
You know what dude. I put this up so that some kid that doesnt know about meth might make an informed decision should someone ever put a line in front of him/her or a rock pipe. Something that could really affect someones life. PERMANENTLY
Maybe you have willpower but that doesnt give you the right to argue and bitch in support of this drug so that some kid listens to you on this website and thinks it ok because you said so.

And BTW, you're judging Meth users to be filthy and loopy and whatever... and you're judging me.. telling me to go suck the pipe for weeks and get hooked, when I'm telling you that you shouldn't.
Maybe you have willpower but that doesnt give you the right to argue and bitch in support of this drug so that some kid listens to you on this website and thinks it ok because you said so.
I'm born with that right... to tell people the truth is my suggestion. By feeding the anti-meth machine you're jsut going to create more users, cause you're not telling them what needs to be said... just all the things everyone's been told a million times over to get them not to do Meth and you don't even realize that it's not only tempting for said kid, but also that the kid isn't going to listen to your stupid ass anyway, because your'e spreading a bunch of BS... You're basing this on what? Your experience? Well guess what... I'm telling you that it doesn't work that way. I've done it before twice... and I was able to not take more then I needed. So from my experience, Meth isn't dangerous. But that doesn't that it isn't...

Do you realize that Spun is a dark parody of the movie Requiem for a Dream? The latter is a much better film. Spun is okay, but Requiem for a Dream is really good. Especially the scene with the giant double-ended dildo penetrating two white women in the ass while a bunch of rich black guys cheer them on.

Wow, you know it's a bad drug when even the druggies on the drug message board think so.
I know a few people who did it recreationaly for awhile and then stopped. But if what everyone here says is true (and I trust you guys a lot more then the govt and the peopl emaking that documentary) they were the exceptions. I guess if you try meth you're really rolling the dice. You might be able to stop using it, or only use it recreationaly, but it'll probably end up controling your life.
It does bring up some interesting questions for those of us who think that drugs should be legalized. Most people can handle pot smoking, but at the same time there are a few people who do become psychologicaly addicted and have it ruin their lives. I still think it should be legalized; you can't compromise the freedoms of millions to protect the very few who can't handle their shit and should've known better then to try it.
But what if there were a drug that ruined the lives (addiction, ect.) of 95% of the people who tried it once. But the other 5% could handle it, use it ocassionaly, have a good time. Should that drug be banned? I'm not saying meth is that bad (I don't know), but it kinda seems like it, and in that case it seems like illegalization is a good idea.

Meth is some shit, people tend to mix all sorts of toxic chemicals and adulterants to it which can make it a very dangerous drug. It's actually dangerous by itself, and has an addiction potential as you said. And wtf, meth is illegal without a prescription, it's a schedule II controlled substance.
