Whats up everyone? i had a good run with the soil grow, tought me a lot of things. now iam here to start my hydro log up again. the big bud was off the hook, so now i know the do's and donts on this hydro thing.
this grow will be K2, ICE 2000, NEBULA, and AURORA INDICA. has anyone ever use those rapid starter plugs bufore? man let me tell you, i put the seeds into the plugs on Friday morning, thinking it will take about a week to germ. here it is tuesday and they are 1/2inch tall already. man this is going to be a good grow here.

Dude, you've made my day!
K2, Ice, Aurora Indica, and Nebula!? This is going to be a killer grow -- I hope everyone of those plants turns out female and are manageable enough to keep. Those are some heavy strains, especially the Nebula [ well, in my opinion ].
Literally, it'll spaces you the fuck out! Put your mind in a black hole, thoughts shooting faster than a Relativistic jet.
Grow on, Mobay!
K2 will NOT let u down. trust me!

looks good though i'm goign to keep my eye on this one

04-27-2006, 11:50 AM
GK tell me what is the difference between pic 1 and the pics at the top of this thread???? like i said iam gonna grow these plants like i grew my big bud. why mess with perfection???????????? ask postman was the big bud i sent him taste like stem rot
GG23 inside of my shed the big bud was near the fan the most and it was drying my starter plug out so at one point i put 2 drippers on her. remember that , you put the drippers to the side of your plant not right on top of them.
Hydroton is a clay aggregate manufactured exclusively at high-temperature kilns in Germany and is best suited for growing larger plants, like tomatoes, peppers, and banana trees. It holds water extremely well and transmits it effectively to the plant roots. The pellets are uniform in size and have an attractive, natural appearance. Hydroton is a chemically inert medium with a neutral pH, and is reusable, clean and odorless

a helpful note to everyone.
A 250 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 2.5 foot by 2.5 foot grow area. (6 plants or less)
A 400 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 4 foot by 4 foot grow area. (12 plants or less)
A 600 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 5 foot by 5 foot grow area. (18 plants or less)

yes i know, but i have my grow box in the attic where it gets way to hot up there. i also had a 1000w system / with a cool tube. was using over 7000 kilawatts a month , along with my other household items, went down to a 400w system and in the winter time i was 6000 kilawatts a month. so it is time to take another downsize to get these kilawatts down.

1000 watts.. 8 x 8..... ?
I prefer 1000 watts MINIMUM for 4x4...
and 2000 watts for MINIMUM for 4x8 (with lightmover 4X12)
And really the foot print size for me never changes for 400, 600, 1000 watt HID's.
All the HID's should all be the same distance away from the gardens canopy.. Thus, more watts means LARGER YIELD.. not larger fot print.
It is miminmum 1 HID per 4x4 area.. increased wattage to me means BIGGER BUDS.. NOT necessarily more area..
: )
I am not disagreeing with you MOBAY.. just a different school of thought and practice..

question , i noticed the leaves on 3 of 4 plants curling up. would that be a nute problem at 2 weeks? was giving nutes when they were in the hydro res, and thought that i could continue giving them nutes in soil. is the answer flush and give straight water?
Hello Mobay :), How are you ? ................ Ok I hope :)
Well Mobay I'm hopless when it comes to problems, so I wouldn't take too much notice of me :o .
Anyway if they were mine I would just give them plain water for a while and see how they go.
Also Mobay I'm not sure if it has any bearing on them curling up, but what is the temperture like, I'm just wondering if it's maybe a little to warm.
Take what I say lightly love, it's more a case of me thinking out aloud :o.

The Queen of Green is good -- the only crown I'd serve allegiance to. LoL
Mobay, the grow's looking awesome. I'm impressed.
I can already see heavy Indica characteristics in two of them.
And that inward curling that's heavy in the first photo looks like magnesium deficiency. I don't know if that helps, but maybe the pH is off and it's locking it out or there's not enough of it in the medium?
Hope we can help with anything that may arise. Despite that, the grow's looking very nice. Keep it up, bro.

05-10-2006, 11:28 AM
yeh bro give them a good flush with distilled water .this curling up of the leaves can be caused by giving nutes to earlie i had this happen to me and after i flushed they were fine.I dont know if you use water straight from the tap as this can cause this prob to .i have to 30 litre containers the i fill with boiled water and leave sitting for 48 hours before i use it once you get into the routine of doing this it works fine as soon as one container is empty i fill it again and while thats sitting for 48 hours i use the other one vice versa.anyway looking damn good as usual later bro .the postman.

I saw this setup once where a grower used a tray to put his pots in and he filled it with water, he also had a three liter bottle with a hole on the side. the hole was even with the level of water he wanted the water to be in relation to his pots. said grower filled the 3 liter with water and closed the cap tight, so as to not let any air in. as the plants used the water the level would go down and expose the hole to a little air, which in turn would equalize the water level until it was even with the hole again. sort of a homemade watering system, i dont know if this is the solution for your setup, but i thought you might find it interesting, btw, i love that cfl setup.
