On Saturday at about three I was browsing these boards when I got a knock on my door from two campus police who told me someone had reported that I was selling pot and mushrooms (I've never even had mushrooms lol). To make a long story short, I got my dorm searched by a bunch of cops. They found 18 grams of weed, two bongs, three pipes, and my vape, along with my scale and baggies. I was arrested and hauled out to the car in handcuffs in front of a ton of people (street cred lol). It fuckin sucks! I was told by the arresting officer that since I was cooperative, I might be let off with just possession, which is a 500-1000 dollar fine, but if they go after me for delivery, I am looking at a way bigger fine, and quite possibly some jail time, up to ten years. Oh yeah, and I have a meeting on Thursday with the dean of students at my college to decide if I will be evicted from my dorm and/or expelled from school. Sweet deal huh?

That sucks, I hope you get off with simple posession. I'm glad organizations like Safer are trying to illuminate the truth and make things better for us in the future. Try to get your campus involved or show your dean what's up, http://www.saferchoice.org/.

I have a pretty good idea, but I'm not gonna go out making accusations unless I know for sure ya know? It's not gonna get me out of trouble anyway.

How could police technically search your room without a warrant? You said that they told you that "someone reported you" ? So on campus anyone can just report a student and their room is searched?

Good luck man. This is a hard one. I think everything was legal. Your best bet is to get a lawyer, right now. I hate lawyers but you need one. He's the only one that can work deals behind closed doors, you cant. Good luck, know that where your going in the next couple of months lots of us have already been and if you need help just reach out.

You've got very different rights as a student living on campus property than you would if you were living in an off-campus apartment with a 'normal' lease. You should be aware of these differences before moving in.

Thanks for the 1.5 year bump stinky...persons rights are compromised all over America...there are different rules everywhere you live...I always thought the military was worse in these kinds of situtions...defend the constitutions but cant live by it.
