Well I tried to germinate on two different ocassions and it's never been successful. I'm starting to wonder if these seeds are shit? I take one to two paper towls and wet them then I place the seeds on them and place another 1 paper towl on top of the seeds and wet that, then I place it in a plastic bag and leave only (---) that much open for air. I would place it in a air-tight glad box or something but I have no room and I'm trying to germinate them in private without anyone picking up a box wondering why it's damp with two seeds in there. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you have everything setup right, Try pinching the seeds first to check if there healthy then try and put them some place dark and warm it can take anywhere from a day to over a week in some cases. Best of luck

OMFG I just checked my plastic bag and theres a white thing coming out of the seed, I think it's the taproot or w/e :D...it's really small, barely coming out. Should I let it sit or should I take it and put it in some soil now?!
Btw only one did this, the other ones still is just there, nothings coming out of it.
I dont see why this stuff is illegal, not even my b-day presents has filled my heart with this much glee. Even though it might grow to be a male, still...I germinated it :D.

Plant any seeds that have shown their taproot. Letting them sit for excessive periods of time after wards could draw unwanted amounts of the taproot out [ to the point you could damage it inadvertently while removing it ]. Also, it could leave the taproot vulnerable to pathogens and fungi.
Also, a good method to checking the viability of seeds before attempting to germinate / plant is to pinch [ lightly ] and roll them between your forefinger and thumb. If you hear any kind of crackling noise, it's a dud. Otherwise it should germinate if it's mature [ i.e.: not white ]
Ever since I started using SuperThrive to germinate my seeds I've never had a problem getting one open. Coincidentally, those that continued to receive SuperThrive each feeding [ as a plant ] thereafter had become female.

Some people leave the tap root untill its about 1 inch long, but you can plant it now if YOU like. But be careful you dont break it off, and make sure you got at LEAST CFL's ready, cos as soon as the cotyledons sprout it will stretch unless its got its light.
Good luck bro, keep me posted ;)

Ok thanks for all the help, this morning the taproot got a little longer, I wish I had my good camera to show but I attempted to show with my crappy web-cam..as you can see the 2nd seed is being a dick about germinating. Btw is it just me or does the seeds tend to get slightly bigger from the time you first put them on the towels until the time they are suppose to show a taproot? Also I'm thinkin about growing outside. I heard your suppose to plant between the end of March and the beginning of April but I didnt even PLAN on these seeds to germinate, I thought they were just shitty bag seeds and went to experiment with this ziplock bag and rips from a paper towel (when I was high lol) and got lucky.

Ok after a few days it's finally sprouted. The shell or w/e of the seed is still on the part where the embryo leaves are gonna show but I got a few questions. The stem seems to be very far away from where I originally planted it, whats goin on? Also the whole thing is sorta like lying on the soil instead of pointing straight up, what should I put in there to support the seedling because I dont think I have any of those fuzzy-wire things to hold it to a stick..

its not a good idea to let the taproot get very long, it is Extremely sensitive to light and rough handling ... if it peeks out of the shell, thats good enough, get it into the soil (1/4" deep, loose soil) also, try to place the seed taproot 'Down', gravity helps it get oriented to the sun ... you will have less chance of problems like 'wilt-off', etc. that way ... enjoy your grow ! ... :smokin:
P.S ... just curious ... if you are new to just germinating a seed, why do you have 1,619 posts in here ?? ... (seems a bit odd) ...

Right on man ok it grew to the side cause it just shot up that direction no big deal.. maybe you planted em to deep like 1inch - 1 1/2 inch deep. you can put a stick in there if you wana help suport it but it's a good plant it will suport it self you might wana think suporting it like if you wana keep it small. so iter put a stick in there or something you can bend and string it to about 3' off ground. indoor or outdoor growing?

Because I joined when I was just a smoker, wasnt very interested in growing but I have been reading and watching alot of growing movies and just now decided to go ahead and try a grow...This month, of course I already know what to do but I'm just getting different suggestions from you guys so I'll have even more options to choose from. Most of the movies and books I read basically cover the same things but you guys might have methods you developed your selves from your own personal growings.

i have been reading a lot lately about h202 and all the things it can be used for. it can be used to soak the seeds before planting to help them germinate faster and it can be misted on the plants and even added to the water. h202 is greatly overlooked and has a lot to offer, even for health reasons.
