I didn't know where else to post this, so I figured spirituality was the best place for it.
The mind, it's a very unnown and powerful thing. We've barely scrathed the surface on what it's capable of. However, It seems I have been blessed with more brain power than others. Not more intelligent, just able to control my brain better. I seem to be able to will my brain in a way other people can't. Emotions for example. I can make myself feel happy or sad or confused. I just have to focus on the essence of the emotion. Just seeing if anyone else has expiriences like this.

You are overiding the natural programming of your brain. It is natural for us to feel different emotions at different times because that is the way our brain is programmed and I can't imagine learning how to control it being an easy thing to achieve.
Do you believe we all have the ability to be psychic we are just not tuned into it?

We all have the abilities at this time to become ascended, in American culture we try to hard therefore it pretty much never happens. Ascension gives us the gifts that master Jesus used..creating bread and wine may be energetically draining, but very possible to say the least.

The brain is far more powerful than we know. An average literate working citizen can use up to 5% of their brain's total potential at once and that would take some effort.
Some people in India have gone through such intense meditation that they can heat their bodies by will.

^^ can you provide a source for the 5% usage fact. Not calling you out, but just interesting and want to know a little more.

Well that's what I last heard. I remember hearing it during a speech made by a neurologist during our Para/Psychology lesson tutorial.

i had always heard 10% is the most that most people use. whereas hindu, taoist, and buddhist masters can use up to 60% or something like that, i dont remember, and i think it's hearsay never the less, so i cant post any sources, but im sure it's not difficult to google lol.

It's true, but I think it's a little closer to 15%. I guess the number varies where you go.
And tibetan monks can change body temperature, and some people hold their breath for over 5 mins at a time. The brain is a powerful tool and my favourite function of the brain is the ability to get stoned

Just to throw some water on this fire before it grows, it's a total myth that we use 10% of our brains, started by phony psychics in the 1930's at traveling circus's. We use 100%, but as for how much we use at a single time, I don't know about that.
But yes, I agree that the brain can be trained to do remarkable things if you just gain the right experience, understanding, and discipline. For instance today I was at work, in a dark cold part of the construction site at 7:00 am and feeling pretty miserable. So after a couple hours I remembered some of my mental training (particularily in meditation), closed my eyes, and from having countless hours of meditative practice managed to put my mind in the peacefull, happy, and clear state within seconds. that state used to take me 20 minutes of intense meditation to maybe achieve.
I've been learning a lot more lately how the mind can be controlled and the different types of consciousness a person can willingly achieve. One of the most usefull skills I've only recently been developing is the ability to transferre extra oxygen and endorphines to areas in my muscles that are particularily painfull. I try not to do the endorphines too much though, don't want to burn something out (excessive seratonin can burn our your seratonin receptors and make you depressed, and I suspect most chemicals work that way).

I agree with devious
we dont use our whole mind for normal thought. the rest is used for bodily functions and for memory storage. of course we dont acces all our memories at once but we still use it for storage and if we didnt we would just forget everything.

then perhaps that 10 or 5% is only the amount we use for thinking and decision making.
