I love you!
3 words that we all use on occasion, BUT!
Why do people who never say those words to friends and family feel the need to utter them every 10 seconds the moment they get on the net?
I know normally sober sensible folk who wouldn't even tell their gf that they loved them turn into drooling idiots because their fave net friend is online,am I the only one who has noticed this.?
I believe in being friendly but it just seems like some folk are breaking their necks to declare their love for people who in reality they hardly know, it's all so false.

Or maybe to love is to accept. And the love you are thinking of is only the love between two people who are together. BUT LOVE IS ACCEPTANCE. And I do use that word alot, but I mean it. I love you.

I'm proud of myself. When me and my wife was dating she said I love you and I didn't say it back. Only because I wasn't sure i did love her yet and I don't like to throw the word around carelessly. Which was good because when i did say it, it meant that much more cause she knew I really meant it.

In the stillness of your presence, you can feel your own formless and timeless reality as the unmanifested life that animates your physical form.

You can then feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature.

You look beyond the veil of form and separation.

This is the realization of oneness.

This is love.

love is just a word, what matters is the connection the word implies

I know from first person perspective that when i say "i love you" online to ppl of the opposite sex (of course) it's kind of a kidding-half-serious goodbye intended to let the other person know that you care about them on some level higher than a plutonic friendship. When i experience it from the other side, that's usually how i interpret it also. It's kind of a mindfuck :-P

How can you have anything other than a platonic relationship over the net?

Which was good because when i did say it, it meant that much more cause she knew I really meant it. :D

This is exactly what I mean, if you say I love you to every Tom Dick and Harry then how do you make that special someone in your life feel special by telling her or him you love them then it just doesn't have the same feel if you know what I mean.

It just seems like people use it so loosely and for some that can lead to problems because they start believing it and when they are let down by their net friends they get angry even though the person who was saying it will probably say "but I say it to everyone".

"I love you" should carry weight and the more you use it the less it means.

Just think if you were in love with a tennis player !! To them love means nothing.:D ;)

well assuming you've met this person over the internet it's kind of hard (but not impossible)
but specifically what i was referring to was people that i already know in person, that i'm am now talking to online

lol cat, so are you totally against love, no matter what shape or form it is??
most of these comments are true.
and it all depends on the individual.
Words carry multiple meanings for different people. Say the word "love" means happiness and feeling complete to one person, while another person went through a terrible divorce and now anytime the word "love" is mentioned he cringes.

my guy wesley pipes said it right.
it's all what you put into that word.

there's a book by Tim O'Brien called "Tomcat in Love" and it has like 3 whole chapters on that same type of thing.
it's a good book too!!

one love.

"The word is so loaded and corrupted that I hardly like to use it. Everybody talks of love....

YET... Love may be the ultimate solution to all man's difficulties, problems and travails, so how are we going to find out what love is?

The government says, `Go and kill for the love of your country'. Is that love? Religion says, `Give up sex for the love of God'. Is that love?

Love is not the product of thought which is the past. Thought cannot possibly cultivate love.

LOVE is absolutely nothing. Then inwardly you are completely silent. Do you understand what that means? It means that you are not seeking, not wanting, not pursuing; there is no centre at all. Then there is love."

What do you mean?

Who says it on the internet?? Do you mean that people will say it to friends on the internet but not to their face?
