No, I don't believe in it -it's a fraud, perhaps the greatest in history. I'm not going to write a long post about it - it's easy enough to just google and find many well written essays by atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, etc.
Logic, reason, and science are the enemies of superstition, which is all that religion is.
I said no. While i do believe in Jesus and God i no longer really believe in religion though. I think its pretty corrupt. Also i believe we no longer need religion to be a middle man between us and God. People have evolved beyond that and now can communicate with God directly. Just as Jesus intended.

Religion , is many things: Religion is a form of crowd control for the masses that are being brainwashed into thinking they will be rewarded for good deeds and punished terribly for bad deeds in order to keep them under control, the wiseman or men who thought this form of control up really were clever in creating the gods in these religions to so terribly have the upper hand over all mankind having them beleieve that no matter what or where there actions are being watched and judged, very clever indeed.
Religion is a way of life or a way for one to disciplines ones life and does work for the majority of the masses
Religion is a way for weak people that need a parent figure to support them and protect them from the things beyond their comprehension that they fear so, sense they are so spiritually and mentally childish they create and believe in a seperate entitiy to protect them in there foolish ways.
Religion is the process one needs to follow to slowly escape the flesh they inhabit, all religions have ultamatoms and every single one preaches sacrafice and the forshadowing and inevitability of leaving your bodily vessel[ in my opinion this is just weak to betray the very thing that has brought you this far in hopes of attaining heaven in some form or another]
Religion is completely absent of the actual god or gods any say that exist within its belief system. Think about if these gods so exist why are they all so afraid to show themselves to the masses no they dont they are only spoken of by a mere human mortal with his own delusions of grandier or false hope. Every case is only a story of being in touch with the god/gods but no actual god is ever to be found. And then of course they will say there god is everywhere and in everything and to that I would say anyone could easily put any image with any feeling and say it is so but that does not make it any more real to the other guy that has his own set of beliefs.
Now belief! thats the key, thats where the answer lies what do you believe in and thats where its at for you and thats what is real for you and each and every individual in existence has the right to believe what they choose.
But religions attempt to take every unique individual and force by way of brainwashing and fear to believe in this one god or there gods is a futile attempt at monopolizing all that is spiritual for there own personal gain.
And all churches and priests that charge or expect money or donations from the helpless masses that choose to believe in every thing there told by this supposed group or being that wants or is expected payment for being the one/ones that can put you in touch with this almighty Monopolistic, sadistic GOD, is the biggest contradiction of all that in itself according to there beliefs should be the worst sin of all.
Extortion from the masses to gain entrance into a heaven witch has no solid proof of existing accept in ones own mind and heart is absolutely AMAZING!
what a mind fuck hahahahahahaahhaa... forgive my blatancy and all out Honesty I meant no offense to anyones belief only a matter of fact if you really look at it.

No. Religious all have one thing in common: they make extraordinary claims without backing them up with extraordinary evidence. It's pretty clear nobody believes in this stuff for any good logical reason; that's why they call it "faith". When people of different faiths are making contradictory baseless claims, of course, they cannot settle their disputes through discussions. What logical argument could be used to persuade one side or the other? The inevitable result for society is one of two things: (1) a society in which people of differing religions openly attack each other, such as Israel, Kashmir or Northern Ireland, or (2) a society in which it is taboo to confront ridiculous beliefs because of some perceived need to be "respectful of people's religions". Neither is desirable. Currently we live in the second type of society. It is okay to ridicule someone's stupidity if they claim that leprechauns exist or that they can fly by flapping their arms, but we can't denounce their stupidity if they think that they can talk with a man who died 2,000 years ago, or that there is a loving god who will torture you for eternity without any chance of forgiveness if you don't believe in him. Religion is a funny thing. It can make millions of perfectly sane people believe things it would be impossible for any single individual to come to believe in unless he was completely insane.

well....i believe in religion - because religion is a belief system - and there are plenty of people who buy into it.....evolutionary biologists postulate that a belief in religion was an positive evolutionary trait....as it banded together otherwise disparate groups of early humans under a common belief....it's possible that religious belief was the glue that held large groups of humans together - the necessary precursor to civilisation and development.....
do i belive in god? That's a very different question....i think god exists, not in the physical etheral father figure of monothesism, but in the minds of those who believe in him.....

religion is not a belief system it it is the system as a whole the religion that you are is your belief system (I.E. wiccan, christian, catholic, baptist, pagan, judism, muslim) are all systems of belief that are a part of religion as a whole because all religions no matter how u worship will all lead to the same place if someone really belives it dosent matter what your religion is i am religious yes but since i dont feel like being prescuted on a board and defend my stance i will prefer not to reveal my religion and my beliefs

Religion = "Believe this set of things and you'll be rewarded/punished accordingly"
Philosophy = "Here's some ideas. discuss"
Before anybody yells "hypocrite" at me, I consider Buddhism a philosophy, as do massive amounts of Buddhists.

very well put
I voted yes.
I believe that religion has good intent, but it's also hiding the truth from the citizens. The government and religion cooperate in a strange way. Both with good intentions, but it's time for an honest discourse. We're so brain-washed it's sickening...while at the same time having honor. It's like sweet and sour sauce. But what do I know? I'm just some nigga on the other end of the keyboard with some theories...and they're not really theories, they're hypothetical. Trial and error, right?

I need facts before I'll trust anything...
None have been giving in some 2,000 years (speaking only for christianity that is) which should be enough time for anyone.

No.
I was baptized when I was born, yes.
But to call God "silly" is, also, blind faith. A faith in "no god".
I'm open to all suggestions, if God wants me to do something, I just might get around to doing it.

I happen to think the idea of God is very silly. God is supposed to contain lots of information, all the information available in the known universe to be exact, yet he is supposedly immaterial. How can information exist without being encoded in some kind of material? The definition of information is material arranged in a meaningful way. That's what information is. To say that something is immaterial is to say that it doesn't exist. Immaterial gods are quite silly and paradoxical creatures indeed. Perfectly invisible, perfectly silent, completely undetectable, made of nothing, yet somehow also within the realm of existence. How much sillier can you get?
