Just out of curiosity, does anybody here ever worry about whether or not your next blowjob or one-night-stand might be from/with an HIV-positive partner?

I mean, oral sex and actual sex vary in your odds of catching it, but doesn't the mere thought of having sex with an HIV-positive partner even with a condom, well.. scare you?

Pretty broad topic, but I feel it can generate a decent discussion.

I think it's a pretty rare occurance for a male to catch HIV from a female giving him a blowjob. She would have to have pretty bad bleeding gums for even the virus to come in contact with your skin. From everything that's been written and said, you can't catch HIV through saliva, or if you can.. it's EXTREMELY rare. Both people would have to have open sores in their mouths and bleeding gums. But I guess the same can be said for females... I don't think it's close to possible for a female to catch HIV from a guy going down on her.

But yes, I worry about HIV all the time. I will not give blowjobs to any guys if I know they haven't been tested. And just the mere fact of thinking about having sex with an HIV positive person scares the shit out of me. That's probably why I don't do one-night stands.

I had to get an HIV test for my mums application to emigrate to Australia and although I've never slept around or had sex without condoms, it was still really worrying and I kept thinking 'what will I do it it comes back positive? Im only 21!'

Unfortunately, I can speak from experience. I have been HIV+ for almost 20 years. Yes, you should be afraid of contracting the virus. It can be a very nasty thing to have. It can also be lived with.

Since I became Positive, my sexual activity has nearly come to a halt. Not because I am Positive, but because others don't understand that there is more to a satisfying sexual experience than just intercourse anal or vaginal.

There's kissing, holding, touching, licking, sucking, stroking, toys up the yingyang (or elsewhere) all of which are safe to do. Ya know, a finger used to stimulate the "G-spot" and a soft kiss on the belly can be as if not more satisfying for the receiver than using your stick to poke at a hole or two. And it certainly helps if you make a point of pleasing your partner rather than just pleasing yourself.

But if you desire to weild your wand, wrap it. But guys, here is a hint, make sure it fits you tightly, and lubricate the outside. Your partner will get better "friction" if you and the condom are sliding in and out rather than you sliding in and out of the condom. Besides, a condom that sticks on the outside has a better chance of breaking than one that has the ability to slide around.
