Anyone here manged to quit cigarettes on their first go?
They say that its more addictive than heroin which is bullshit lol because some people can quit cold turkey with cigarettes whereas with heroin its a lot harder.
If you used to smoke how many tries did it take you and how long have you quit for?
If you haven't and you are trying whats the longest you've managed to go without cigs for?

I've been 2.5 packs a day for at least 15 years and I'll tell ya, I was shocked. I had to spend a couple weeks in jail back in Feb. and didn't have any withdrawl at all. Maybe with the amount I smoke it needed a little longer to hit me but I was shocked.
I by no means am saying it's not addictive though!!!
Have a good one!

Cigarettes could be considered more addictive because there is no real noticible reprucusions from smoking a cigarette, and they are always cheap and avalible.
It is waaayy easier to quit when nothing is stressing you out. I usually quit for a while during vacations and a relaxing weekend or two. When work piles up on you you'll go straight back to the cigarette and say fuck it

I quit by switching over to cigars, after a while I just quit smoking the cigars altogether and just stuck to weed and beer.:glugglug: :smokin:

I smoked cigs for about 4 years ... then I started smoking herb ... then one night after finishing a joint and following it up with a cig, I realized how dumb cigs were and stopped .... I still had a few off and on when I went out to drink but I haven't smoked a cig in probably 2-3 months and don't plan to again in the future ...
the herb got me off the cigs ... gotta love it.

no its not dude. i used to think that hell i smoked almost 5-10 grams a day. now i havent smoked in like 3-4 days. if you ever do any harder drugs you'll understand that it anit shit. as for tobacco i trully dont think that i get addicted to it. i used to smoke a mentoal after i toked up then i started to hate it cause it tasted liek shit. now i just do it if i feel like it. but i have famaly members who got addicted and they have been trying to quit for ever almost like a year. its hard but its better if someone quits with you.

I smoke on the weekends, about 10 cigs in 2 days which isnt that much. I like doing it that way cus I get a buzz every time, if I start smokin often I dont get a buzz. I wouldn't say im addicted because I go perfectly fine through the week without thinking about cigs, my friend is a hardcore smoker though.

I've quit now, twice! I haven't had a cig in years, nor do I want one, but it sure as hell took me more than once of trying to quit. I lost count, but after trying lighter ciggs., and trying to cut down, nothing worked. I guess just one day I was tired of paying $7 every few days for something that did nothing other than kill me, make me smell bad, and eat up my cash...oh yeah, and did nothing for me.
I can't tell you how much better I feel though and how much money I have saved. I quit when it was $7 a pack, it's now $10+ a pack. I thought $7 was a lot, but more?! Goddamn!

Ciggs can be more addicting than smack!!! People die from both addictions...
There are people in the hospitals with lung cancer that still smoke...

I quite once and it was hard as hell. Aparently I forgot how hard it was cause I started up again about a year later. Now I smoke more than ever. It's a nasty habbit that's expensive as hell. I plan on quitting once I get my own place again. When i quit again, there's no way i'm letting myself start again. If I get stressed and feel the need, i'll punch myself in the nuts and realize that no matter how shitty the day is...it could be much worse.
