I know, I know, pretty dumb question, but I found a cooltube on eBay for £35 so when I get paid next week I think Ill go and buy it. All Im wondering is what else do I need? Just a fan (same diameter as the cooltube: 160mm) and some of that... er... silver bendy tubing stuff. You know what I mean :o
Also, where can I buy all this from? Anyone know a decent, relatively cheap website in the UK that sells all this?

use the padded isolated silver tubing stuff.
Leafman trading (good site!) (https://www.leafman.nl/index.php?cPath=645&osCsid=c5f3f05c57844de9c838a774afd52fdb)

I think Ill scrap the cooltube idea for the moment - I have to pay my parents £20 a month electric, and a fan is £80ish, then the tubing aswell, and then the cooltube on top of that... why pay all that cash to control the heat from the 600w, when at the moment I cant even utilise all the light it gives off? Im just gonna get either a 400w or a 250w.
Theyll work with a 600w ballast wont they, or will I need to buy a 400/250w ballast instead?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty certain you have to have them matching.

that is unless the ballast says it will work for a 400 or 250

If you have a 600w ballast you can only use the 600w light on that, so you have to buy a seperate ballast for 250w or 400w. The reflectors the only thing you can use for 250w-1000w bulbs.

There is a site for v cheap insulated and unisulated ducting in the UK. You want insulated because the noise will be a problem.
