If there were no buildings.
No cars.
No roads.
No houses.
No cell phones and technological shit.
No cities.
No towns.
No coutries.
No borders.
No killings.
No rapes.
No hate.
No crime anywhere.
No difference in race.
No difference in language.
No other artificial shit that fucked up/make up our environment.

Only...

Beautiful scenery.
People living together as one race with no bad morals.
Love.
Simplicity.
Mellowness :D
The world as pure as it was say, one million years ago.
And cannabis.....

Not like the 1800's, I'm talking time of the dinosaurs minus the dinosaurs (Unless they like to chill and smoke too). We would live kind of like the Indians did I guess but not so, violent?

What do you have against buildings, cars, roads, houses (where would you live then in a pig sty???), cell phones and technological shit, cities, towns, different countries, crime ??? (no crime = no cannabis)

All these are what make the world different so basically what you are saying is wouldn't it be great if the world was all the same and boring well.... no:)

no houses ? (where would people live and go to stay and keep their belongings in and keep warm)

no cars / roads / towns / cities / countries / boarders? (well if the world didn't have countries, cities, boarders etc... then how would everyone get around we would have to stay in one place for our whole lives)

no cell phones? (no way for people to keep in contact)

There are too many disadvantages

Buildings, cars, roads, houses, etc. take a piece of of the earth's beauty away. Technology? We can live without it, no biggie. It wasn't always around in the way we know it. Cities, towns, countries, race...these things create racism and hate. What do you have against a world with no borders? And who's to say the world would be boring, and all the same? What makes the world so exciting today, that you wouldnt trade for a paradise that glows with peace, love, and beauty?

Homo erectus, homo habilus, Neanderthals, and species like ours have lived normal lives with no houses. How did they stay warm/cool? I do not have an exact answer. Im sure we would adapt and use the environment to our advantage, much like im sure they did.

Why would we have to stay in one place the whole time? That makes no sense at all. Your saying that just because a place has a different name makes it different altogether? The world is all the same, just some places are named different. That's all. Just a name.

No cell phones, oh dear, what a tragedy. Talking with people over the phone is totally different then having a conversation with someone in person. Why do we feel the need to call people all day nonstop?

There are too many disadvantages? Had we not have had all this stuff in the first place, we wouldnt know we are at a disadvantage

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

Id love to live like that. If I ruled the world, everyone would live in little settlements, and each person would grow something different. One person would grow potatoes and yams, one would grow tomatoes and Herb, one would have a few chicken coops, one would have a herd of cattle etc etc.
Nothing would be traded as such - each month, there would be a huge celebration/festival kinda thing where everyone brings what theyve grown, and we all sit down and have a huge dinner, finished off with as much Herb as you can possibly smoke. Oh, and shrooms aswell. Then we all go back to our little huts (that we built ourselves) and carry on tending to our fruit, veg and livestock.
Kids wouldnt be taught all this algebra and Shakespeare bollocks, theyd be taught how to read, write, build stuff (woodwork etc), look after animals, and grow Herb. There would be no marriage either, because if you really love someone and they know it, you dont need to get married to prove it. You just bonk them.

Oh, and there would be none of them fugly electricity pylons. Power would be generated by solar panels, water turbines and windmills. I mean the old wooden windmills, not those nasty white things.

Yeah but this would still create the problem, who would work??

no money, no buildings, no houses or cars ?? nothing for people to spend money on, would they even get paid for working????

We need people to work so that we can live like people who deliver food and keep it fresh, people who cook food like restaurants etc....

it wouldn't work

Swizzy89304
04-18-2006, 09:05 PM
There would be no money. Instead, you either grow everything you need (and employ people if you need the extra help; payment would be some of the finished product. The amount would be agreed upon beforehand) or you trade items. For example, someone has just popped off a load of chickens and you grow spuds, and one day you fancy some chicken with it. So you simply trade some potatoes for the chicken.

don't you think there is a reason we have progressed this far?
probably because people sat around going, "this sucks; i wish i was warm" or,"this sucks; i wish i had a way to take care of this bleeding, pus-filled abcess in my gums".
granted, we are over developed and what not, but do you think for a second that some raggedy-ass dirt farmer who couldn't hope to live past the age of thirty would choose to go back to a life that was nasty, brutish, and short if you showed him what we have now?
medicine to heal your sick child- yes, there are plenty of major problems w/ the medical industry and plenty of naturally occuring medicines, but still, peeps just didn't live that long or have great access to these medicines.
houses/buildings- yeah, i hate suburban sprawl, but have you ever spent a cold night in the woods? it sucks unless you got the right gear.

balance is the only constant. you can't have utopia without some distopia. you can't have plenty without scarcity. nature just doesn't work like that.

you're writing about how you don't care about technology on a COMPUTER!
you're posting these statements on the INTERNET!!
wearing mass-produced clothes from inside a MAN-MADE STRUCTURE!!!

it's like the rainbow family bitchin' about Babylon... but they DROVE A CAR to the gathering and most are WEARING SNEAKERS/TEVAS/BIRKS!!!

it's cool to question and wonder, but just remember that the grass (and ganja) is always greener on the other side.

um...
native north americans? 'cause they had plenty of disease and conflict.
native south americans? those mugs ate human hearts and sacrificed hundreds of thousands.
true, they didn't fight for land, usually, but they sure did fight for horses (plains indians after horses were introduced) and slaves.
not to piss in your cheerios, but the myth of the noble savage living in harmony is just that, a myth.
yeah, they had a much better grasp (for the most part) on sustainable development and decision-making, but they still rarely lived past forty and had plenty of sickness and strife.

i won't deny you heard that, and i won't deny that there weren't some cases of longer-than-usual longevity, but those would have been rare cases.
the industrialized world has just recently begun seeing life spans reaching into the eighties, and by recently i mean the past 100 years or so.

When Im older I have a dream (hopefully ittl turn true).
I either want to live in Thailand, on the beach on a little island in a wooden shack. Just a bed and some clean running water will do me fine. Each day go over on a little boat to the local market on the mainland and pick up my food for the day.
Or live in a little shack somewhere up in the hills in Jamaica, with a few acres of land where I can have some chickens and grow my own food and veg.

Swizzy89304
04-19-2006, 09:03 AM
Everything in Thailand is dirt cheap. When we went on holiday a few years back to visit my cousin, I ended up bringing back most of the money I took with me because I just couldnt spend it all. We gave the guy in the tuk-tuk taxi a 20 baht tip (about 35p) and he was fucking ecstatic. Ive never seen anyone so damn happy!
A meal for 4 at a decent restaurant on the beach costs around £10, thats including drinks, starter, main course and dessert.
Oh, and you can buy a MASSIVE detatched house on a private estate (complete with armed guard), with your own swimming pool, garden, patio, front garden, 3 bedrooms, 2 on-suite bathrooms, a downstairs bathroom, living room, kitchen, study, dining area, all fully kitted out with AC for £50,000. Would make a damn good investment.

yeah. violence sucks, but it can't be avoided. the lion has to totally kick the shit out of a gazelle (and by "kick the shit out of" i mean totally disembowel) to feed its cubs.
sure, people are not animals, but i go back to the whole balance thing: YOU CANNOT HAVE UTOPIA WITHOUT DISTOPIA. the center would not hold and things would fall apart.
