So I am attempting my first grow using the areo setup in the pics below. I have done everything I know how to do to get these girls (I hope) healthy, but nothing I am doing is working. Here is the lowdown: Medium= Hydroton and CocoTech 50/50, 5â? net pots, areo sprayer system with a 15 gal res. Sprayers run for 2 hours every 12 hours (because of the CocoTech water retention), my ph is at 5.5-6.5, my ppmâ??s are at about 400, and I have them under a 400w MH in a Supersun CoolTube with fan.

Here is how it progressed: When I initially put the plants in the system after germing I was using about 40% strength of the recommended dosage of nutrients, Flora Nova Grow, with Diamond Nectar, Floralicious Grow, and Flora Shield.

I noticed the brown spots after about two days and tried to take action. I covered all my bases, such as, spraying them with a little neem oil spray, reducing the nute strength to 1/4th the recommended on GH website, (1/8th strength for the Flora Shield per the â??stickyâ? just recently posted here), and reducing the watering time to 2 hours every 12 hours (I was watering constantly before).

Is there anything I am not doing or doing to much of? What is causing my babies to die?

PLEASE HELP!!

BTW, I am growing Northern Lights, White Widdow, White Rhino, and AK-48, all from Nirvana.

Jay

Now, I don't know aeroponics, Flora nutes, or neem oil, but that coco looks soggy as all get out.

Hopefully, Zandor or Latewood will come along to give you more specific aero advice, but in general, I'd guess they need time to get dry on top between sprayings.

Drop the ppms to 50-100 of nutes, and maybe even give them just pure water for a day or two.

One half coco seems like a lot, you might want to change the mix to 2 or 3 to 1 hydroton or more, if you can't get it to stay drier.

;)

Better yet lose the coco altogether and spray for shorter burst more often. What kind of lights are you running?

Even better yet!! Light is good set-up is super sweet!
ASAP lose the coco altogether it will mess up you sprayers and spray for shorter burst more often like 15 min every hour the roots need water more often. You can get a special timer from wally or homedepot with 12 on/offs. Also you need to flush out the res. use only water no nuts for a few weeks. Look up the times for aeroponics I have no real knowledge on that but 2 hours every 12 hours seems to be too little

So I got rid of the coco tech and that seemed to solve the problem, I clipped off the semi-dead leaves, and just for fun, changed out the res again, everything seems to be stable for now. Thanks:dance:
