Can i just use seeds of off the weed i buy?

i got this good stuff from this guy and he just takes it rite off the plant and doesnt break it up so i have a shit load of seeds. ive been thinking of just taking some of the seeds off of the bud or w/e you call it and planting it outdoors. is that possible?

or can anyone point me in the direction of learning about germation, male/female seeds cuz all that is confusing as heck to me and i just want to grow some pot:rasta:

Problem is Funni, if you don't read, do research, invest time, effort and energy into the plants, that's what you're going to get. You're just going to grow... but not buds. You're going to grow a cannabis plant... oh yes... they WILL grow...

But don't expect buds you'd actually buy off your dealer.

If you just get informed, learn, ask questions (after SEARCHING), and be open-minded, you'll have a very cool time growing some buds.

buy a bag of soil,dig a hole in your backyard,pour the soil in then plant the seeds,then get a couple of ripping bananna peels and lay em beside ur plants to increase % of females

It sounds unbelievable because it is unbelievable, Bicflikr. Banana peels don't affect the gender of plants, Smoke and Fly (or Bicflikr). Read your botany. The gender is already determined in the DNA of the seeds themselves. You can ensure females by using feminized seeds but not by planting random seeds with banana peels.

yes theres nothin you can do to increase the male/femme ratio.. its all a roll of the dice unless you have feminized seeds like birdgirl says :D but theres nothing wrong with growing bag seed at all man, thats all ive ever grown and i end up with the finest of kind bud every time... BUT, if this bud has a shitload of seeds in it like you say, maybe you should wait for a little better shit to come around.. its much too late to plant outdoors right now anyways, so use the fall and the winter to save choice seeds from exceptional pot and that way the genetics might be better.. the seeds you wanna save are the big brown ones with the little stripes of black in them.. those (IMO) are the best ones which always germinate.. good luck next year funni

I heard those feminized seeds have a lot of problems with hermies, and that the bud isn't as good as it could have been from regular seeds. In fact, I read it in The Cannabible 3. Is this true?

It depends very much on the breeder and the techniques used, but most people do not have major issues with feminized seeds. I think a large part of the negativity surrounding them is due to the fact that serious growers do not use them. But serious growers tend to use clones, which makes the advantages of feminized seeds irrelevant for them.

First off, it's a bit late to plant unless you live in a WARM climate, and even then, since cannabis is sensitive to the number of hours of light, your harvest would be small. Cannabis is not a frost tolerant plant! Save your seeds until next year or do an outdoor grow in pots to bring in at the first frost. The banana peels will not affect the number of females but are a good source of minerals. I'd go with ORGANIC bananas- the regular ones are heavily sprayed with pesticides. Now go hit the grow FAQs and learn something!

420check420, BirdGirl, sorry loves, but you are wrong about nothing being able to alter the ratio of females to males. Paul J Talley did a paper in the early 1930s, called "Carbohydrate-nitrogen ratios with respect to the sexual expression of hemp" He was going for males for the fiber, but if you do the OPPOSITE, you ought to get more females! He got 73% females with one set up! Not bad for starting with unsexed, normal, hemp seed. :thumbsup:

Consider that much bag seed is a blend of several strains . I have never bought seeds before..(I'm a cheap ass) and have used bag seed and friends seeds for many many years and to me its fun just to see what ya come up with.

I've come up with ditch weed, sativas, indicas of several varieties and one time I grew a really nice Wood Rose .. hey it was in the batch and peeked its head up and I babied it just like fine smoke,, Just remember boys and girls.. growing can be fun and educational too...:thumbsup:

get yourself a sandwich bag then wrap up bananna peels in paper towels then put them in the sandwich bag then place your seeds in the bag
the banannas give off sum sort of gas which increases the % of females
swear to god thats what i read
replace the banana peels every 3days
it also works with cucumbers apprently

gotta agree with storm... you can definately increase the percent of females, if all conditions are favorable... i do it often with bagseed... i almost always germ and grow a female majority
